Beautiful ruby red body, nice off-white/slightly pink head. Big tart pie cherry nose, lots of funk, yogurt and cheese. Light to moderate sweetness, light to moderate sourness, lots of funk, excellent cherry character, nice almond notes, some honey sweetness. Medium body is round and well carbonated. Awesome.

Bottle sample at the HSC Sour tasting on 6/19/10. Pours clear red with a thin off-white head. Aroma of super sour cherries, vinegar and a bit of pepper. Cherry and malt flavor with tons of sour vinegar flavor. Up there with Cantillon and 3 Fonteinen in terms of sourness. Good though.

Sample at the HSC Sour Beer Tasting on 06/19/2010: This Kriek is a mostly clear reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Funky aroma with notes of sour fruit, wine cork and brett. Medium body with a moderately sour character and flavors of lemon, apple cider, malt and more brett. The finish is woody and fruity with a cherry aftertaste. Pretty good, and I liked it equally with the Cuvée de Ranke sampled right before it.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2012 A: Deep red body with a nice sized pink head. Not much in the way of retention as the head quickly crashed to a spotty skim. Just a little bit of spotty lace left behind.
S: Tart and sour cherries. Oak. A bit of funk as well as some red wine and vinegar.
T: Much like the nose, the dark, sour cherries are present from the very first drop. Equal parts tart and sour. Oak accentuates the fruit nicely and the red wine like notes fill out the rest of the profile.
M: Medium bodied. Effervescent, a tad bit too effervescent. As noted above, fairly sour and tart. Not overpowering, however.
O: All in all a good fruit lambic. I found the carbonation to be a bit on the high side and the prickly feel detracted from an otherwise good beer.
