Very enjoyable. The near candy color was a bit offputting but the beer comes through nicely. Nice cherry character that avoids being overly sweet, instead gives a nice sourness and some farm funk.

This one flirted with the top 100 a little while back, and I haven’t had a straight up lambic in quite a while, so color me excited!
Looks pretty good, a very nice dark red color with minimal head but great lacing. Looks unusually thick but that could be from the glass sweating.
Smell is of sweet fruitiness, cherries, followed by a whiff of sour goodness. I tend to like my sours more toward the well, sour end of things, so this is a good sign and quite an enticing smell. Not so much vinegary sour.
Taste is unfortunately a little more subdued than I would have liked. The characteristics are present, but muted. A good balance of sweet and sour with some apple on the back end and some great funk, nice cherry aftertaste. So close to greatness, but good none the less.
Mouth is thin to medium in body, medium in carbonation. This is strictly personal preference, but I prefer no matter where the body lands that this is fizzy business, would have liked more bubbly.
Overall a good, solid drink but not quite up to the standards of my more preferred sours.

I’ve had this many times and love it, but recently had a bottle aged exactly 5 years, and it was definitely worth the wait. The cherries were just as prevalent but dryer, the body had thinned a bit and a deep sour woodiness emerged that put it on par with the best batches of La Folie. Unmatched!

750ml bottle. Pours a deep hazy pinkish red with a light pink ring for a head. Tons of Brett and tart cherries on the nose as well as a hint of astringent cat piss (in a good way). Tons of tart cherries and funk on the palate, very brett inspired finish.

Ruby red colored brew. Nice sour cherry aroma. Flavor has medium sourness, pleasant. Cherry flavored.

Bottle pours ruby red color with off white head. Aroma consists of sour cherries and yeast. It also smells acidic. Earthy stingy mouthfeel. Flavor is really tart and acidic. Really acidic. Tart cherry, sourness, puckering, enteric. A little too acidic for my taste. A good brew nonetheless.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 MrGGen (300) - ITALY - JUL 26, 2009
Finale secco.Grande birra!

2007 bottle at Cambrinus. This red Lambic poured with a decent pink head that went away quickly. There is a subtle cherry aroma and a natural lambeek cherry flavor that is slightly sour, with little sweetness. The sour brown base gives this beer a different dimension.
