COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kriek de Rank is real Belgian sour ale fermented with cherries and then blended with real lambic. It is unfiltered and unpasterized. The de Rank brewery was founded by two good friends; Nino Bacelle & Guido Devose. To them, brewing is a weekend hobby, not an occupation. For a few hours every week they make small batches of what many consider the best specialty beers. Their beers are robust and flavorful. They use the best Hallertau and brewer’s Gold varieties of hops.

Bottle, 4/8/14. Pours hazy red with rapidly settling, light pink head, minimal to no lace. Aroma is tart, acidic, buttery oak, dried cherry and berry. Flavor is moderately tart, fruity, dried cherry, with an oaky, buttery, vinous finish and lingering tart/acidic, dried berry aftertaste. Nice tartness and pleasant level of fruitiness. Moderate carbonation, medium body, and slightly dry finish.

Bottle bought at GBBF Bar 2012. Kept this for almost a couple of years. Bright red/pink, medium white foam head. Nose is syrupy cherry, Bakewell Tart, white sour apple, some sour blackcurrant, some red wine vinous wine tannin. Taste is tart and sour, quite tangy, acidic, Bramley apple sour, the fruit notes are going the sweeter syrupy way. It’s also going a bit red wine tannin.

Bu en pression de 33cl, couleur brune et peu de mousse, très acide en début de bouche sur le citrion cette bière relève qu’après une aération l’attaque sur les cerises acidulées trop bon !

750ml bottle, 14/03/14, BBE 02/18. Pours a healthy, deep, dark, bright red with a good-sized, classy, pink head. Aroma is sour with cherry and cherry candy. Taste is semi-dry and sour. Cherry is very present of course. Some balsamic vinegar and apple skin. Turns a bit juicy on the finish unfortunately, perhaps even slightly watery. Still sour though. Fairly with quite a lot of carbonation. Unfortunately a bit of a disappointment. Generally Belgian sours and (unsweetened) krieks are very much to my liking and this wasn’t bad by any means, just a tad underwhelming with the finish.

Belle couleur, acidité très présente (et pas trop à mon goût). Finale cerise. Certainement plaisante pour les amateurs de ce type de boisson ;)

Bottled on: 06.2011. Znakomite piwo rozowego koloru, pelne owocowego smaku, zwlaszcza wisni. Wytrawna owocowa koncowka, tanicznosc dobrej klasy win gronowych. Srednia rozowawa pianka, niezbyt trwala, lekki musujacy efekt. Papier i etykieta na szkle. Pieknie to wyglada, zwlaszcza ze piwo jest wyborne. Metnosc spora ze sporao iloscia na dnie butelki. Lekko kwaskowe i zdecydowanie winne. Super pasuje do wykwintnego weekendowego objadu. Polecam

Bottle from NWAF, Derby. Drank at home. Dark claret pour with a pink head. Aromas of sour cherries, wet wood, red wine vinegar. Flavours of sour cherries and a whisper of raspberry jam. Nicely balanced. Long sweet/sour finish .Very nice!

Me and Belgbeergeek cracked this leftover bottle . For some reason , it turned out to be oxidized very badly . Keeps good for 5 years, was 4 y old . But not too good anymore . will re-rate when had again ! hopefully soon, cause this one’s supposed to be really good . --------&# pink-red . Good white head fades fast . Smell is lambic-forward, much of wet cardboard as well ( I mean, real overkill amounts ! ) Taste is dusty, overkill cardboard again . Bit sour, bit cherry .

From the bottle. Very nice pinkish red color. Spritzy with big cherry flavor. For the ABV, I thought this was a light tasting kriek. Nice.
