2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 vwsteggie (684) - Paxton, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 26, 2004
Art of Beer Festival 2004: Has a clear red color with a small pink head. Smell is of cherries. Taste is also of cherries and finishes on a sour note. Overall better than the Cantillon I just rated, but I really do not like sours.

Nice amberish color with a sharp berry-ish nose. light fizziness with a noticible tartiness to the flavor and a weird lingeringly coating in the aftertaste.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Koelschtrinker (7060) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 12, 2011
Süßer Kirschgeruch, mild. Sehr milder, etwas muffiger Antrunk.

As a fan of lambics, I was slightly disappointed by this beer. While it hit the mark for aroma, appearance, and palate, I found the flavor to be somewhat lacking.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 DeanF (1484) - Iqaluit, Nunavut, CANADA - AUG 25, 2010
Little carbonation, dark red colour, not much head. Extremely sour, definitely lambic in there but the cherries took a back seat to a very sour lambic flavour. Unbalanced in my opinion.
2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 BBB63 (5026) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - MAR 21, 2004
Third in of my “Kriek, not just for breakfast ” tasting: (No vintage, but is Lot 04) Pours to a muddled brown red with a quickly dying pink fizzy head and no lace. The aroma hints of cherry, current, apple, leathery yeast esters, sharp cheddar cheese and mild oak wood. The taste is fairly one-dimensional, straight cherry and wood. Just a touch of the yeast nature is displayed. The mouthfeel is rather flat and lifeless. Disappointing beer, not worth the money. Where was the hoppiness I read about?

15/10/2010 75cl bottle @ De Ranke presentation at Gentse Biervereniging
NOTE: this was drunk at a very young age, 3 weeks. So the beer hadn’t had the opportunity yet to age. So this calls for a re-rating.
Intense red to ruby beer, practically no head. Aroma: still lots of bretta, some cherries, but barely detectable. Taste is like the Cuvée De Ranke with some fruits, but not even sure if I would be able to tell in a blind tasting.

Bright red/purple colour. Smells sour, cellar, yeasty. Tastes not that sour, not that fruity. Mouthfeel is quite dry, small co2 bubbles.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 MiP (11783) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - APR 9, 2005
Sour acidic cherry aroma. Unclear, bloody colour. Sour, acidic, earthy flavour with metallic finish. Tastes a bit like drinking wine after lager.
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 sunevdj (2490) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - APR 23, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 26, 2007 Pours dark red with a nice pink head. Very sour with aromas of vinegar and sour cherries. Sour and slightly bitter finish. We tried to mix this one with the abnormaly sweet Kasteel Donker - They both got a bit better.
