Madsnp (107), Odense C, Denmark May 8, 2008 Bottle. Hazy deep red coloured with a big lively pink foam. This beer has a great sound! The foam disappears quickly and leaves almost no lacings. Aromas of sour berries, cherry and some wood. Flavour is sour and rich of tannins. This on is missing a little complexity I guess, but a fair kriek though.
blankboy (2562), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 19, 2008 Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, tupalev, jerc & garthicus -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a murky red with an average size diminishing pinkish-white head. Nice aroma of tart cherries, light spices, dry funky yeast and some sourness. Flavour: TART! Yeah! Tart cherries along with some spices, wood and funky yeast -- earthy, acidic and dry but very drinkable. Wow, I was not expecting to like this this much -- this is great stuff! kmweaver (1948), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Aug 15, 2008 750mL bottle. Pours a very bright, medium ruby-red color; decently sized bright pink head with good retention and fine-bubbled lacing; really nice pour. High levels of solid acidity and tartness in the aroma: fair show of funk, tart citrus, pitty red fruits (skins, minimal tannins) including cherries and red raspberries; very nice, developed tartness. Lively carbonation and mouthwatering acidity. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: loads of upfront red fruits (cherries, raspberries, and slight strawberries), lemony citrus, and reasonable amounts of funky cheese and tartness; crisp, and dry overall; very nice rendition of a kriek-like sour ale without taking away too significantly from the solid fruit character; very enjoyable. Lengthy, tart finish: lemons, cherries, and lasting sourness and funk. HogTownHarry (3174), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 14, 2008 Bottle (750ml). Shared with blankboy, garthicus, GregClow and jerc - via trade with Boutip. Best before 12 2010. Hazy ruby, smallish head. Simple sour cherry/lemon juice, dry, nice funk. Very nice - eminently drinkable. ucusty (914), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 8, 2008 Red pour, very thin head. Funky cheery aroma.
