At Bruxellensis 2008 Muddy/shunky brown body. Off-white head. Sweet caramel, hoppy aroma. Heavily bitter, lightly sweet flavour with a typical De Ranke touch. Nice bitter dark beer. Well balanced with nice hoppy hints.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 thebeertourist (4060) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 20, 2008
From tap at Bruxellensis 2008. Cloudy copper-brown with a big, steady and lacing tan head. Cinnamon, fruit, chocolate aroma. Milk chocolate blending with tart fruit cannot go wrong, can it? Especially not if balanced by healthy bitterness. Quite full-bodied. One of the best Wallonian brunes?

Draught @ Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen, Denmark. Unclear medium to light dark amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, dusty, moderate to light heavy hoppy, grass, light to moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet amd moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, and a dry dry finish. (Sweetness is like belgium yeast). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Very nice. (190708)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 15, 2008
(Bottled) Very hazy reddish amber with a small, tanned head. Sweetish, dark-fruity, lightly yeasty aroma. Sweetish, a bit vegetably flavor with roasted malt, hints of ashiness and some yeast. Medium, somewhat sticky body with medium carbonation. Ok, but not a great effort considering the skills of De Ranke.
