COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Unfiltered.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Candi-sugar; Yeast.
The heaviest ale on our menu with a very rich taste, coming from the six different kinds of malt we use. These malts also give it that rich, dark, nearly black colour. The royal doses of Challenger and Saaz hops bring the typical balance between sweet and bitter.

33cl bottle, from Geers BB 2017. Light gusher.

17th Oct @ Red Rose in Brugge: 33cl bottle and glass presented to me on a smell tray, seemed inpolite not to pour and drink it, so I did. Dark, deep and meaningful looking beer: very dark brown, almost black in fact, on top a rough head of tanned foam. The nose and taste were all about the six different malts used in the brew: burnt chocolate malts ruled the roost in both the aromas and flavours once in the mouth. There is a hop presence but it hides until you are well into each sip. I liked it, seemed more like a strong Stout than a Belgian brewed dark beer but enjoyable all the same.

Bottle at home (from Noel Cuvelier) 21/10/12. Pours an obscured mahogony brown with a thin tan head. Nose comprises dark fruits, bubblegum, a little hops, pine, light notes of Belgian yeast and a shaving of chocolate. a pleasant but not overbearing nose! Prominent hopt tones, sweet dark fruits, a little toffee, liqouric, dark caramelised sugars and a little spice. Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a bitter sweet finish. A well balanced beer and the alcohol is disguised well, definately one to revisit!

Bottle from Bierkonig. Pours dark brown, as Coke with a huge frothy off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits, yeast and lactose. Taste is spicy, with a herbal sidenote, bready and dusty malts. Medium body. Good one.

Bottle 33 cl from willems - Grobbendonk (B). Garnet-brown with beige head sticking to the glass, living crackling. Catchy and vinous flavors, malt, toffy, citrus and herbs. The mouth is unctuous and full, roasted malt and fruity. Bitter-sweet with torrefaction, hop for both the fragance and the bitterness. Perfect balance. A little rough in finale rich and tasty.
