3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 33 cl from willems - Grobbendonk (B). Garnet-brown with beige head sticking to the glass, living crackling. Catchy and vinous flavors, malt, toffy, citrus and herbs. The mouth is unctuous and full, roasted malt and fruity. Bitter-sweet with torrefaction, hop for both the fragance and the bitterness. Perfect balance. A little rough in finale rich and tasty.

Bottle. I winced as I popped this cap thinking it would be another gusher... it wasn’t. Murky medium brown with a persistent off-white head. Chocolate cookie (more dry cocoa and biscuit, not fudgey at all), light spice, brown bread, light figs, light tart cherries. Very cool, so drinkable!

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Dark brown and a huge creamy bubbly tan head. Fresh aroma with nice bitter fruits, toast and pleasant hops combined with a farmhouse yeasty feel. Love it. Amazingly flavourful yet balanced brew with solid bitterness and nice roasted backup. Wow, really stunning! Well thought out and brewed balance between roasted malts, a flavourful yeast and a classic hop burst. Amazing.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, poorly retained light beige head, with some lacing, over a cloudy brown (SRM 25) body......nose is dried fruit, including raisin, plum, treacle, light cocoa........taste is raisin, plum, cocoa, allspice hints finishing with a hop coffee bitterness.....mouth feel light of medium, alcohol hidden, carbonation low. This is obviously a Dark Belgian Strong Ale. It is not as deep in aromas and flavors as are the best, but it is a pleasant glass. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

750ml brown bottle. Medium brown, light haze. Bog head, foamy, clingy, light brown in colour. Excellent lace. Nose has light chocolate and biscuit. Taste has chocolate malts, biscuits, some fruity alcohol notes. Light hops in the finish. Lightish body with very smooth carbonation. Nice.
