COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Unfiltered.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Candi-sugar; Yeast.
The heaviest ale on our menu with a very rich taste, coming from the six different kinds of malt we use. These malts also give it that rich, dark, nearly black colour. The royal doses of Challenger and Saaz hops bring the typical balance between sweet and bitter.

Blackberry, cassis aroma. Flavours: malt, sweet. Nice genuine Belgian ale. Ideal for sipping in front of the fire in winter

Bottle 330 ml. Pours dark brown with thick creamy beige head. Aroma: roasted malt, dark fruits, bananas, liquorice, nuts, vanilla and toffee. Taste: roasted malt, nuts, caramel. Sweet with a bitter finish. Impressive and somehow surprising mix of flavours. Full bodied beer. Finish is dry. High carbonation. Some warming alcohol. Style is hard to tell. Original and interesting.

Bottle @ ’t Poatersgat, Brugge. Pours hazy copper brown with small beige head. Clear arom of caramel malt, with notes of fruit and touches of coffee. Bitter, roasty onset, giving way to sweet notes of caramel malt, coffee and chocolate. Hints of liquorice, especially in the rather rough aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Well-balanced and really enjoyable. Very good.

33 CL bottle slightly chilled on a hot June day. Poured with a white head, rapidly diminishing. Attractive dark brown colour with a slight aroma. Light malty taste with some sweetness, finishing dry. Full bodied and rich, average carbonation. Long bitter finish. Overall a very good beer, one that could have been too sweet or malty, but is very well balanced and leads to one wanting another.

Dark brown, almost black color with persistent beige head. Lots of malt and caramel on the aroma. Dry with sweet notes at the beginning that gives way to a bitterness that persists in the mouth. Strong licorice and toasted hazelnuts taste.

330ml bottle at Stu’s. Pours red-brown, no real head. Aromas are caramel, toffee, and taste is the same - demerara. Disappointing.

Aroma: caramel, molasses, sours. Appearance: dark brown, big beige creamy head. Taste: medium bitter. Palate: caramel malts sweets coming up quickly, pushing bitters away, though they are coming back in the long dry finish. Overall: nice Belgian Strong Ale, great aroma. Bottle at Cafe Rose Red, Bruges.
