The heaviest ale on our menu with a very rich taste, coming from the six different kinds of malt we use. These malts also give it that rich, dark, nearly black colour. The royal doses of Challenger and Saaz hops bring the typical balance between sweet and bitter.

Bottled, 33 cl (ABV 8.5%). Hazy dark brown colour, medium sized beige head with average duration. Nose of dried fruits, licorice, chocolate... Complex and refined aroma ruled by marmalade and licorice underpainted gently by chocolate, sugar and herbs, mouthfeel is thick. Dry and lingering, gently warming finish with distinct herbs and licorice escorted by earth and dried fruits again. Alcohol’s hidden well, fine one.

The darkest ale of De Ranke, named after the place where the brewery is active. Seven kinds of malts, making the beer balance between sweet and bitter.

33cl bottle. Pours dark murky brown with a huge foamy beige head. Aroma is a ton of spices, candied fruits, light roastiness, yeast, some acidic note. Yeasty Aroma similar to Oval. Taste is more roastiness, some coffee, light fruits, light citrus, some acidity again. Dry finish, light ground coffee bitterness. Medium body, lively carbonation. No alcohol detectable as usual. Strange one.
