COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The heaviest ale on our menu with a very rich taste, coming from the six different kinds of malt we use. These malts also give it that rich, dark, nearly black colour. The royal doses of Challenger and Saaz hops bring the typical balance between sweet and bitter.

Bottle. A strong malty smell, bitter chocolate, light sour, a little bit like wine. The beige head is large and foamy with a normal duration. The body is black. A strong taste of chocolate, some coffee. The body is strong, oily and creamy with a soft carbonation. A very good beer!

From bottle, served in branded snifter glass at Biercraft on The Drive. Fruity nose. Thin head. Very dark brown, not black in color. Flavor is fruity, nutty, rich, like a very flavorful stout. Some aftertaste. Very nice!

Bottle. Hazy deep brown body. Frothy, tan head, mostly lasting. Aroma of cookie, toasted malt, bread, herbs, mustiness. chocolate, licorice. Hint of pepper. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture turning velvety in the finish, lively carbonation. Lingering bitterness with notes of anise in the taste balance the sweet malts. Tastes of mint and clover are noticeable. Lacking a richness that one would expect in a 9% Belgian strong.

Tap in Moeder Fontainas. Brown colour rather than black. Lovely full malty character, with spice and a bit of booze, but they must have loaded the hops in here as it still finishes dry, bitter and long. Lots of flavour - an excellent beer.

750 ml bottle - pours dark brown with red hint - steady 2 finger head. Aroma of dark malt and caramel, some citrus hints as well. Medium to full body with a nice baalnce between sweetness and freshness. Combined this with crued milk cheeses and the combination gave a nice chocolaty finish to the beer

(Bottle) Dark reddish brown colour with rich, creamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of liquorice, toffee, dried fruit, raisins, dark chocolate and burnt/caramelized sugar. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, tobacco, dried fruit, candy sugar, soy sauce and liquorice. More than medium body, fairly sweet, with a gentle citric bitterness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Bottle. Had this after dinner, was great. Looks ruby red to dark brown in the glass, with a medium sized, creamy, tanned head on top. Aroma of coffee, licorice and roasted malts. Some caramel present as well. Flavour is sweet, with coffee tones defintely coming through here. Great to have after dinner.

Bottle, 75cl corked. A minimal sized off-white head sits on top of an unclear, brown body. Sweetish caramel nose with dried fruits, some alcohol and a touch of spices and hops. Sweetness, caramel and dried fruits in the finish. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated mouthfeel. Pleasant finish with European hop flavor and bitterness. Wouldn’t mind having more of this one. 110826
