imdownthepub (4731), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jun 12, 2009 Bottled, 330ml aged 4 years. Gold amber with full white head. Cor, this is good, initial drying hop not though with a touch of alcohol sweetness, deep malts, quite grainy and yeasty but in a good way. Later the hops hold their own way, with a bit of a floral display on the tongue. Great beer, its a shame there is only 330ml in a bottle. douglas88 (1311), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA May 30, 2009 Bottle shared by footbalm, thanks Eric. Best before August of 2013. Pours a cloudy copper color with a small white head. The aroma is interesting; citrus and yeast, light hops. A sweet and unusual flavor of sweet citrus, hops, and a rich Belgian malt. Easygoing and very drinkable. Nice. shotgunn (19), Boise, Idaho, USA May 14, 2009 It pours a light brown carmel w/a small head that laces the glass nicely. First taste is SWEET??? nothing that I was expecting, being that it says it is a hoppy christmas ale. It has none of the christmas tree taste or hops bite that usually goes w/the what the title suggests. But that’s enough of my ranting, it is a good beer that I would recommend. So, here’s to you, cheers. j12601 (631), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA May 7, 2009 Bottle at a tasting at Andy’s I think Peter brought this. Pours a hazy golden amber with some brown highlights. Aromas of caramel, toffee, and a bit of citrus. Pretty thick with some malt, and more caramel coming through. Light bitter finish. PilsnerPeter (2162), Flushing, New York, USA May 7, 2009 Bottle: Deep orange with a dense light tan head. Chalky dry phenolic aroma- subtle caramel in the back of nondescript fruit notes. Creamy texture. Lightly bitter flavor but very dry overall- chalky with some underlying soft Belgian amber malts and a grassy finish. Dry and easy drinking. kitschy (158), Nebraska, USA May 4, 2009 In bottle. Sweet smelling and delicious. Appeared to be a hazy brown, and that’s even without swirling the yeast in the bottom of the bottle. I appreciated the amount of malt, and the sugared fig flavor. puzzl (2339), New York, New York, USA May 3, 2009 Bottle shared by PP. Cheesy, dry, celery, yeast and dough aroma. Cirspy, celery root and bitter greens flavor, nice yeast and dough, very fresh and clean and easy drinking. Lovely. savnac (184), Palmer, Alaska, USA May 1, 2009 Bottle. Yeast hop aroma. Cloudy amber orange with a white head. The flavor is a nice mix of bitter hops, sweet malt and sour yeast. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and a dry finish.
