FlacoAlto (2103), Tucson, Arizona, USA Dec 16, 2003 Pours a hazy amber color. It is highly carbonated and creates a dense off white head. As I pour I get immediate notes of cider in the aroma. As I put my nose further in I get musty as well as fruity aromas. It tastes like a lively funky Saison with a deeper rich caramel note to it. Lightly sweet, lightly tart. Has a slight peppery finish, as well as some dry slightly astringent notes. There are definite flavors of apple cider here. This beer also has a sweet spice type note as well (perhaps a bit of cinnamon). This beer is damn good. So far De Ranke has really impressed me. This is a really good mix of flavors, very well balanced. Walks a wonderful line between sweet on the one hand and dry on the other. DeadGuyFrank (340), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Dec 27, 2007 Looks like a typical super hoppy ale in a goblet, but wow!!! cheers to the glorious taste of Belgian yeast and hops!! Lots of carbonation, lotsof light, repeat light, hoppy flavor, really refreshing and great with mouth coating foods like eggs and cheese. Well done!! spodude (10), Belgium Aug 25, 2006 Another great beer from De Ranke, less bitter than XX but still worth every drop. Nekronos (1901), Xalapa, Mexico Dec 22, 2005 Updated: Apr 30, 2006Awesome beer, no doubt about it. I could not find all the Christmas Bers I wanted, but this was good. The foam is awesome, some creamy, and the cloudy colour is great. hembryggaren (45), Örebro, Sweden Apr 16, 2003 Amber with a small head. Yeasty light peach and banana candy aroma, light carbonation level. Finishes bitter and acidic.
