Commercial Description:
A fantastic Christmas beer, but one that defies the universal custom of a stronger, spicier beer for the holiday season. At 7% alcohol by volume, this one is relatively lighter in alcohol than the Guldenberg, and does not pack the hop punch of the XX. It combines some of the best elements of those other two beers – with a fine balance of malt and hops, complex character, a refreshing dryness, and a gorgeous cellar aroma – but is distinguished by its festive copper color. The 1999 Père Noël was a bit of a departure, with a very appealing yeasty tartness that was not readily discernible in earlier years.

Excellent lacing with a strong head. Poured caramel brown. The initial aroma contains raisins, ether and other fruits. Extremely complex - the first impression was of chocolate, then toffee and finally caramel unfolding over the span of a couple minutes. I’ll have to pick this one up again next Christmas.

Orange, hazy body. Excellent lace. Looks like the perfect beer! Nose of hops and yeast. Moderately bitter initial flavour. Lightly bitter finish. This is a beer totally in the style of ’De Ranke’, it has that typical ’De Ranke’-bitterness.

Orange to amber colour. Very dry and woodsy character. Dry and slightly acidic. Fruity mainly of the apricot kind. Plenty of tannines

The commercial description says it well, i definitely tasted a hint of the XX flavor in there, which is one of my favorite beers. A slight sweetness, with great hop character.

Awesome beer, no doubt about it. I could not find all the Christmas Bers I wanted, but this was good. The foam is awesome, some creamy, and the cloudy colour is great.

Kerstbierfestival Essen. Orange coloured beer with a nice white head. Bit dusty, hoppy nose. Pretty intense bitter taste, but the bitternessseems to fade away towards the end, strangely enough.

Cloudy orange aroma. Thick white head. Fruity and wooden aroma with hints of yeast. A little hoppy and peppery flavor. A fruity and a little yeasty finish.
