ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Oct 16, 2005 Bottle. This brew was supposed to have been brought by a guest to a Winter beer tasting I hosted this past Winter, but said person failed to show. Another friend brought it over last night, and I didn’t recognize it at first. Sour, highly carbonated aroma. My friend’s daughter thought it smelled like wet feet. She me have been on to something, but in a good way. Beautiful orange-red cloudy body with particalia. Lasting, small, off-white head. Not highly carbonated as I thought it would be. Great session quality. While tasting, I referred to this as the Belgian Fuller ESB. Has some mild bitter hops to go with the smooth malt profile. Hides the alcohol. Simply wonderful. zug4abby (287), San Diego, California, USA Aug 26, 2005 pours a Slightly cloudy amber orange color. Fairly intense grassy and citrusy aromas. Flavor is the same with a lingering bitterness to it. I didn’t enjoy this beer to much. The woodsy/grassy aroma and flavor was to much for me at that point in the day!

Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 29, 2005 (Bottle 75 cl) Paper wrapping says: Lot # 000002. Dark golden beer, slightly hazy with a thick, creamy head. Spicy - pehaps a wee hint of aniseed and oranges. Pronounced tartness and a very dry, bitter finish. 230202 erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Jul 15, 2005 Pours cloudy orange with a tightly-knit head. Some funky citrusy aromas. Funk and horse hair with some real dryness in the flavor. Very spicey and fruity but not sweet. Tart, tasty and dry. ante (2904), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 10, 2005 Orange colour, small dissapearing foam. Dry aroma of yeast, orange-peel and pepper with subtle sweet undertones of yellow fruit. Dry yeasty flavour of pepper, apples, and oranges. Finishes rather tart and yeasty. Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 8, 2005 nice nose on this one. hoppy, piney, slightly woody. white head that dies quickly. tastes a lot different than i expected from the aroma but the pine flavors still come through. really dry palate which reminds me of orval in a way. maybe a little grapefruit too. pretty good overall. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 1, 2005 Sampled from 1.5 liter bottle with the vast hordes at the Ratebeer Mondial gathering at tiggmtl’s. Light, hazy amber-gold with lots of visible suspended yeast and a bit of lasting head...sharp yeasty-bready nose redolent of mandarin orange...thick doughy body, quite full, somewhat sharp and funky, fruity goodness includes apricot and sour apple...peppery finish. Nice but for some reason I expected more.
