COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fantastic Christmas beer, but one that defies the universal custom of a stronger, spicier beer for the holiday season. At 7% alcohol by volume, this one is relatively lighter in alcohol than the Guldenberg, and does not pack the hop punch of the XX. It combines some of the best elements of those other two beers with a fine balance of malt and hops, complex character, a refreshing dryness, and a gorgeous cellar aroma but is distinguished by its festive copper color. The 1999 Pre Nol was a bit of a departure, with a very appealing yeasty tartness that was not readily discernible in earlier years.

Jun. 16. A 0.75 l bottle. It poured a hazy amber to orange body with small head, especially for a Belgian. Fine orange, biscuit and coriander aroma. Lightly bitter flavor, orange, especially its peel, spicy, yeasty, like a typical tripel. Medium body with long finish, which pronounced orange peel and vanilla. Lightly warming. A decent, very tripel-alike Belgian ale.

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, Belgian yeast, orange, bread, hops and spices.

Appearance:
Hazy/turbid orange/brown beer with heavy yeast and with a slight/medium off-white head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, Belgian yeast and orange; ends slightly bitter and dry with bread, hops and spices.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense and balanced, but lacks complexity. Decent tasting spicy Belgian Ale, but without depth and uniqueness.

Slightly brownish amber, hazy, white frothy head, sticky lacing. Bit stuffy sweet, malty, dark bread, raisins. Medium body, sweet and sticky, dries to earthy finish which is long and woody, potent carbonation. Ok but not more.

Lotto L95T120KT15, 33 cl. best before 10/10/20, aperta il 22/05/16. Corpo medio-leggero, ben carbonata.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2016 An odd thing to have in April, but then Im an odd bloke. Bottle at the Maypole. Golden brown, clear, with a bit of creme caramel head. Malty herby aroma, and malty herby taste. So far so good, and then the exceedingly dry finish kicks in. Seaweed, angostura bitters and resin in the aftertaste. A gorgeous unseasonal treat.
