COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fantastic Christmas beer, but one that defies the universal custom of a stronger, spicier beer for the holiday season. At 7% alcohol by volume, this one is relatively lighter in alcohol than the Guldenberg, and does not pack the hop punch of the XX. It combines some of the best elements of those other two beers with a fine balance of malt and hops, complex character, a refreshing dryness, and a gorgeous cellar aroma but is distinguished by its festive copper color. The 1999 Pre Nol was a bit of a departure, with a very appealing yeasty tartness that was not readily discernible in earlier years.

vintage 2009. pours a cloudy yellow orange color with lots of stray yeast floaters. extreme fizzyness looks like its going to have a carbonated bite to it. aroma is spices along with some caramel malts. hmm taste is nothing like i expected from a Belgian brewery. reminds me a a typical cream ale but a lot better than anything Ive had in that style. wow this is good! tastes opens up more with every sip. its not such a complex and big beer but its done so well. very solid beer

11.2 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Clear copper with a big white head of foam. Very good retention. The aroma is floral, juicy, a little spicy. Mildly bitter and nicely sweet. Dries out to a pleasant floral bitterness. Crisp finish. Medium carbonation. Very easy drinking. Dangerous at 7%.

Bottle. Colour...hazy, dark gold with a huge white head. Nose...fruity, sweetly spicy and quite yeasty. Palate...tangy, moderately plush and quite frothy with waves of orchard fruit, esters, peach pits, apricot skins and lemon zest. The finish is long and sweetly tart.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A brown orange opaque beer with a big off-white creamy head ; great retention ; good lacing. Fruity aroma (citrus), resin, herbs, spices. Light sweet, medium bitter, dry, refreshing. Medium body, thin silky texture, good carbonation, dry bitter finish. Overall, nice fruity "christmas IPA".

Cloudy medium light amber with a thick but quickly receding white head. Aromas of sweet malt with a slight sour tinge. The flavor is very light and there doesnt seem to be much going on here. A bit of vanilla, baking spice, and light caramel sweetness, but overall somewhat watery. Maybe a bit of grape must. Leaves a slight woody taste behind, but otherwise seems to disappear at the end. Not a bad beer, just not very distinctive.

Deep amber color, big off white head that quickly disappeared. Aroma and taste of malt, spices, yeast and pears. Medium body, average carbonation. Sweet taste with light tartness and surprisingly bitter finish. Nice, fruity Belgian ale.
