Saison de Dottignies is a high-fermenting saison with a relatively low alcohol content which makes for a well-balanced beer.

Taste: Full of taste, but very drinkable. Heavily-hopped and thirst-quenching - typical of saison-styled beers.

Hops: Challenger, Brewers Gold, Hallertau Mittelfrh, Styrian Golding

0.33l bottle. Lots of banana up front on the nose here. It has a blurry deeper golden color and a nice lasting and lacing big off-white head. A little generic Belgian yeasty tone to this also. Green apples and traces of sugar. Not bad, just not very saison-ish imo. High and creamy on the carbonation and its quite light, almost a little watery on the mouthfeel. Not very saison-ish on the taste either really. Belgian and generic. Mild metallic tones, some ripe green apples and mild astringent apple skin. A little medicinal in the finish. Did not make a fantastic good impression on me this one, but its not directly bad either. 27.12.2014

11.2 oz. bottle from Old Town. Aroma: Moderately musty lemon pepper; dried wildflowers; slight gum. Appearance: Hazy, unfiltered deep caramel gold with a foamy, towering white head that settles into a sticky skin. Flavor: More gummy/floral up front than the nose would suggest; more musty/peppery towards the finish, which dries up completely and is bitter. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: A superior beer and worth a try for any beer lover.

Restrained funky floral aroma in a golden pour. Lovely dry hop malt balance and lower than usual strength makes this an excellent example of the style - and one I might prefer to the benchmark (DuPont). Very tasty.

Nice. Deep yellow with just the right amount of carbonation. Flavor is fresh with malts, yeast and resinous bitter hops. Most saisons have some citrus and spice. Not on this one but it is well brewed and very tasty.

Bottle, 75cL. Home. A sparkling golden orange-yellow beer ; fizzy ; big white foamy head ; great retention. Herb, light citrus (lemon), biscuit, roast. Medium dry bitter refreshing ; sweet note ; light acid. Medium body, light silky texture, good carbonation, dry bitter lasting finish. Overall, good ! Nice herbal bitterness ; a bit yeasty rough.

330ml bottle from Beer Boutique. A really great refreshing saison beer. Light gold with a little haze from the sediment. Strong hop bitterness, much more so than is normal for the style. A reasonable amount of hop aroma too, again more than it think is usual for the style. The yeast character, whilst very present was not overpowering and tasted clean rather than funky. I dont drink a lot of Saison but I could really imagine sinking a few of these on a hot day.
