Draft at Zwaze Day WLV. Pours a hazy gold with a fluffy white head. Nose is spicy with citrus undertones. Some white pepper notes, but closer to the de Ranke strain than any other saison. A bit sweet in the nose as well. On tasting, not bone dry, nice bitterness and citrus blossom notes. Could stand to not have the level of sweetness and floral that it has and be a bit sharper. Okay, but lacking somewhat.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic Brussels.

On tap at Zwanze day 2011 Chicago. Pours a cloudy deep amber with a slight gold hue that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has notes of grassy hops, yeast and a bit of a light citrus note. Flavor starts with light grassy hops and grapefruit with a yeast backing.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2012 On keg at S.Brevinga Alus un viskija salons, Riga. Pours a light golden colour with a lacy white head. Aroma is a little sour with lemon and wet cardboard notes. Flavours of musty hay, caramel, honey and white pepper. Lovely oily mouth-feel with light carbonation and a mild CO2 prickle. Also had this on draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Poured a light golden colour with a fair white head. Aroma of bready yeast, caramel, pine, white pepper and alcohol. Similar flavours with saison yeast coming through. Mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Not bad.

33 cl bottle poured into a Saison DuPont glass. Unclear bronze color with a firm eggshell head. Nice classic saison nose: slightly acidic, grassy, floral. Just a tad faint. Well-balanced flavor with a mildly sweet maltiness and plenty of drying grassiness. Very slight lemony note provides some quenching acidity. Bone dry finish with a great bitterness, highly refreshing. Mouthfeel is a little heavy midpalate but it dries back out pretty quick. Carbonation is on the bubbly side of average. An overlooked gem as far as I’m concerned.

Bottle @ The Beer Mongers... Poured golden orange with a thick white head. Light bodied, hoppy bitterness, dry with a pronounced, quenching yeast tartness. Earthy, and a slight botanical tone which is perfect for a good farmhouse ale.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2011 (33cl Bottle) Another Saison , with Lambic , Saison is the shit ...This nose here whispers ...you get faint happy cries aboutout peppery esters and grassy hops....but id like more noise
Looks Sainon’y ...
Has a herbal, grassy hop profile , fruitiness, but lacks a spark in dryness to really give this good numbers.
A shy Saison..but pleasant...
