Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Pinball. Pours a hazy golden with a creamy and slightly lacing off-white head. Spicy, yeasty and perfumy aroma. Medium body, lowish carbonation, some sweet fruit, yeast and spices with a surprisingly bitter finish. 131112

Pours hazy pale to medium amber with a one finger of light beige head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, moderate lacing. (4/5) Nose is pithy citrus, yeast, cloves, barnyard funk, faint banana. (8/10) Taste is mild sweet, moderate bitter, mild funk. (8/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, dry bitter funky finish. (4/5) A pleasant, slightly funky dry saison. Fruit is muted and restrained, as is the sweetness. For the price, though, it could stand to be a bit more interesting - as it stands, it’s a decent beer at a premium price. I think it’s slightly better than the sum of its parts, though, so I’m bumping up the overall a bit. (18/20)

Bottle 33cl from Malting Pot @home. A great example of Belgian "Saison", bitter and refreshing. Nice!

Bottle from Vinmonopolet’s BU. Pours amber with a foamy, white head. Esters, banana nose. Banana, pepper, spice flavour. Sweet, with quite a lot of bitterness. Medium to low carbonation and body. Hint of oilyness. Very refreshing. This has everything you look for in a saison.

tricksta_p (1271) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - NOV 9, 2014
Aroma of light malt, yeast, some fruits, spicy notes, hop. Flavour is light sweet, but lacks tartness. Finish is dry and medium bitter. Refreshing and esily drinkable. Not a great Saison though, because of the low funk and absent tartness.

Jolie couleur dorée, bien houblonnée, bonne amertume, notes de citron, légèrement de pamplemousse et un peu herbacée ou poivrée. Un très bon ensemble. Bien agréable pour se rafraîchir...

Oct. 2, 2014. Bottle at beerbistro. Slightly orangey yellow colour, with white thin head. Straw and lemon aromas, hint of biscuit; aroma is very faint. Lemon, straw flavours, lingering bite. Drier on the palate than expected. Not excessively fond of this saison compared to others, but it’s still ok.

Alengrin (2351) - BELGIUM - OCT 8, 2014
Hoppy saison since 2010 with thin, snow white head and hazy yellow blond colour. Aroma restrainedly fruity, some hints of lemon peel, yeasty, grassy hops. Dry fruity taste of unripe peach, crisp with sharpish carbonation, strong peppery hop bitterness in the finish especially for this style - but we all know De Ranke prefers bitter and sour over sweet so this comes as no surprise. They have achieved better than this, but this is still an enjoyable beer.

Boutip (4828) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 6, 2014
Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy amber color ale with a nice tan foamy head with excellent retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of light rustic malt with sweet undertones also noticeable. Taste is also dominated by rustic malt notes with light residual sugars notes and a mildly spicy yeast notes with bready undertones. Body is full with limited carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Wonderfully executed with great drinkability and just enough complexity.
