Saison de Dottignies is a high-fermenting saison with a relatively low alcohol content which makes for a well-balanced beer.

Taste: Full of taste, but very drinkable. Heavily-hopped and thirst-quenching - typical of saison-styled beers.

Hops: Challenger, Brewers Gold, Hallertau Mittelfrüh, Styrian Golding

0.3l bottle. Served in a tulip. Appearance: Cloudy brown-orange, fine, small white head. Aroma: Bit skunky, orange, coriander, cloves, cinnamon. Lots of spices here. Hints of lemon and lime. Palate: Medium bodied, a bit oily, smooth start, long, lingering dry finish. Taste: slightly sweet start, tiny hints of tartness, nicely bitter finish. Really well balanced.

Donkergeel bier met veel stevig schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig en licht zoet met iets van banaan en abrikoos.

I was quite excited when I poured my first glass. The aroma was spot on and it poured nice and clear with a pale to golden color. The aftertaste in the mouth was pleasant. What let it down was the taste. The was an overriding bitterness which was unpleasant and it lacked body.

Aika perus Saison. Hedelmäinen, vaalea väriltään, maku ei kovin erikoinen.

Lightly hazed golden colored liquid. Moderate sized, off-white head that looks rather creamy as it settles. Light caramel with hop and yeast notes in the nose. Light floral and citrus along with bits of a dry barn. Solid nose, but nothing overwhelming. Full feel, but plenty of zip to keep it from felling too heavy. Lightly sweet with some dry malt in the background. Mild citrus and wood in the middle to finish. Saison Light. 7/10

0.33l bottle. Lots of banana up front on the nose here. It has a blurry deeper golden color and a nice lasting and lacing big off-white head. A little generic Belgian yeasty tone to this also. Green apples and traces of sugar. Not bad, just not very saison-ish imo. High and creamy on the carbonation and it’s quite light, almost a little watery on the mouthfeel. Not very saison-ish on the taste either really. Belgian and generic. Mild metallic tones, some ripe green apples and mild astringent apple skin. A little medicinal in the finish. Did not make a fantastic good impression on me this one, but it’s not directly bad either. 27.12.2014

ContemplateBeer (1990) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUN 22, 2016
11.2 oz. bottle from Old Town. Aroma: Moderately musty lemon pepper; dried wildflowers; slight gum. Appearance: Hazy, unfiltered deep caramel gold with a foamy, towering white head that settles into a sticky skin. Flavor: More gummy/floral up front than the nose would suggest; more musty/peppery towards the finish, which dries up completely and is bitter. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: A superior beer and worth a try for any beer lover.
