Orange in color with big beautiful off white head. Aroma is black pepper, lemon/orange citrus, some sweeter notes, cedar phenolic notes and a touch barnyard. Flavor follows. Moderately low sweetness with phenolic spiciness and a citrus fruitiness with hints of hop that follow with lingering hop bitterness. A touch barnyard, a mellowed lemon/orange citrus ester, some phenolic wood, and BOOM... you got yourself a classic Saison.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Ghent. Golden clear amber, large white head which dissipates to thin. Nose is very baked biscuit malt, acidic hop, floral, cereal barley malt, creamy wheat, digestive biscuit, some slight funky saison yeast but not much. The biscuit and acidic hop is classic De Ranke. Elements of XX Bitter. Taste is acidic, tangy bitter hop, sweetness, some nice floral, biscuity malt, barley cereal grain, lemon and grapefruit citrous peel, and then some of that creamy wheat on the finish.

Bottle. Poured amber color with an average frothy white head that was lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth dry texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.
