COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
XX Bitter or Extra Extra Bitter is a blond, bitter ale containing 6.2% vol. Alc. It’s famous for it’s very bitter and strong flavour. XX is being made with pale pilsner malt and loads of Brewers Gold and Hallertau hop flowers. A perfect combination that has been nationally and internationally praised. This ale has been a real trendsetter for the current comeback of bitter ales in Belgium.

Man, this is my BEST EVER ! When I don’t know what to drink, I open my fridge and I pour an XX Bitter. It’s always refreshing, surprising, dry, perfect... I have no words for that one, it is my best of all time... My church.

I LOVE this beer. So unusual for a belgian to be this hoppy. Not hoppy like an American ale but nice and dry. Seek this out and love like I do!!!!

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2010 750 ml bottle. A hazy medium blonde beer with a large, frothy, fizzy, lacing, fully lasting white head. The aroma is lighlty to moderately malty, heavily hoppy, moderately yeasty. There are notes of bread, flowers, grass, herbs, lemon, orange, grapefruit, perfume, spices (pepper), barnyard, basement and mint. The flavour is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately sour, moderately bitter. Amazing balance, just enough sweetness to balance the hops. Medium body, lively carbonation, slick mouthfeel, dry and extremely long finish with heavy bitterness. I used to think this was a very good beer, now this is almost perfect as far as I’m concerned, tempting, attractive look. every sort of noble hop aroma in the nose, some yeasty funk, beautifully balanced flavours and clean. The best product of one of the very best breweries in Belgium.
