Brownish amber with a malty tan head. Aroma of yeast, malt and oranges. Taste is similar, both sweet and sour, with some dark fruit notes. Not bad.

Hazy brown red beer. Beige creamy fine laced head. Aroma of dark fruits like pruns and raisins. Also a bit of citrus. The flavour is surprisingly sour but not much. Partly coming from the roasted malts. A bit between Abbey Dubbel and Vlaams Oud Bruin like another RTB-ian already noted.

Clear brown color, short off-white head. Aroma of malt, cookie, spicy, raisin, prune, some chocolat. Quite sweet taste, sirupy, some amaretto-like sweetness, vanilla. Quite sticky palate. I kind of like it actually.

Bottle@Home. Sweet, raisin, lactic and several spices in the aroma. Brown color, hazy, yellowish head, good lace. Light sweet, lactic, hopbitter, spiced, bitter finish, prune, typical De Ryck yeastiness, light bodied.

33 cL @ Delices et Caprices in Brussels. Hazy brown beer with amber highlights, off-white head. Aroma quite malty with some dark fruit notes. Roasty malt flavor with tart fruit notes and faintly bitter hops. Plenty of character while instantly likable, drinkable and refreshing. Well balanced, neither sweet nor overly spiced. A classic take on the style.

Bottled. pours out in a hazy amber body. Low sticky white head. Surprisngly dry and hoppy aroma of yeast, nuts, wet wood, cocoa-powder, minerals and grassy hops. Dryish and aromatic flavour of orange-peels, wet grass, nuts and coffee. Dryish finish of yeast, orange-peels and minerals. Has a farmhouse character. Tasty!

Bottle. Nice orange glow to this amber beer with a huge bone-coloured head. Herbal and grassy hop aroma. Hint of berries as well. Sweeter, maltier flavours, still with berries, yielding a sweet and sour dimension to the beer. Noticeable alcohol. Sweet finish. Good, but there are better dubbels around- this has a bit more of a Vlaams oud bruin to it.

Bottled at the Belgian Embassy in Oslo. An unclear, brown beer with a beige head. Candi-sugar, malt, some hops and spices in the aroma, but it could be more pronounced. Sweet, caramel-like flavor with some roasted notes and beefstock. Medium body with a bit stickyness. A nice beer with nothing special to it. Very quaffable. (070301)

A Mes rate: Draught at PBF 2006. Had this rate in my phone in my phone for 6 months and totally forgot about it. Translucent darkish amber with a very impressive tan head that vanished a little to quickly. Sweet malty aroma with some toffee. More toffee and some sugar in the flavour with what I can only describe as something fishy in there. Quite odd. Sweet finish. Fairly standard in my opinion.
