Bottle conditioned and filtered keg.
Ingredients: Hops, malt, water, yeast, sucrose, spices.
Named after the original name of the brewery - De Gouden Arend (the Golden Eagle).
Arend Double has a warming sweet caramel flavour in combination with a subtle bitterness of hops. The full-bodied aftertaste turns this beer into a modern top fermented quality product.

Pours a hazy red copper with a huge, fluffy white head that doesn’t go away. Aromas of cereal, caramel, butterscotch, minerals (iron) and overripe fruit. Mild sweet at the beginning, with hints of chocolate and caramel. Transitions to roasted malt bitterness and enough herby hops to balance out the sweetness. Medium body with a thin mouthfeel and active carbonation. Overall, a sweeter dubbel with nice aromas, although nothing standing out.

The dark counterpart of Arend Blond and the successor of the old Rochus but not nearly as interesting and in my opinion a purely commercial move. Just another cliché dubbel, with the stereotypica aroma of caramel, coffee grounds, bitter chocolate and dark fruits, a sweetish and subduedly fruity taste on a malty basis, in the end with a slightly toasted bitterishness.

Countbeer (4974) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - JUN 2, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sizes creamy creme head on top of a hazy brown to ruby colored beer. Aromas of iron, malts, watery prunes, some corn, some nuts, minerals and diapers. Flavours of porridge, toast, iron, malts, warm, old wood, strange bitters, some (rotten) oat, hint of nuts and some strange and not so tasty prunes... Aftertaste is bitter, nutty, malty, some hay and bread... Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied and a light watery warm texture. Couldn’t finish this beer, very unbalanced flavours!
