2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, bought @ Beer Planet, Brussels.
Pours muddy brown with a medium, frothy, off-white head. Aroma is bubble-gum sweet. Caramel, lots of Belgian sugar, coriander, red berries. High carbonation, kinda dry mouthfeel, slight watery. Flavour is light metallic, a hint of chocolate, caramel, some yeasty notes. Too high carbonation perhaps that gives off that metallic note.

3.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: NOV 21, 2011 23/07/2010 - 33cl bottle at home
Pours a little cloudy darkbrown beer with a big creamy light beige head. Aroma is amazing: dried prunes, raisins, red fruits, coffee and caramel. The palate is a little flat. Taste is mainly roasted malts, some mocha, caramel and acidic. Aftertaste is slightly acidic with hints of coffee. Contrary to what one would think after smelling the beer, it is not sweet at all, nor has it any hints of fruitiness. A bit of a disappointment.

Bottle conditioned, 330ml from Hopduvel Warehouse, Ghent. Chestnut withwhite head. Good flavoursome Dubbel with background spicing, some cinnamon perhaps, a little treacle, sugar note and a sweetish roast malt body. A late fruitiness. Really pleasing.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled sample via lubiere. Hazy amber in colour with fairly strong carbonation. Aromas are of cooked sugar, dates, and licorice. Caramel malts and pitted fruit dominate the palate, with some balance being offered by some floral and peppery spice notes. Medium bodied and somewhat quick finishing. A bit too fruity overall for my taste, but drinkable nonetheless.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This dark brown beer poured with a fluffy beige head and a stringent aroma. There is a somewhat watery dark malt flavor that is nondescript.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at ’t Brugs Beertje. Pours dark reddish brown with a foamy, sturdy beige head. Really nice lacing. Aroma is dusty and acrid. Medium body with foamy, near creamy, carbonation. Flavor is slightly sour red wine. About 50% of Dissident. Though with a disturbing brown undertone. Would do justice to a big chunk of beef.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Very deep ruby colour with thick lasting rocky beige head. Perfumed strong Belgian ale aroma. Quite interesting and tasty and makes you want to try it again. Reminds me of a few of the really good dark beers, more of an abt than a dubbel. Good malts hold it up but this spicyness is really very good. Finished it in just a few minutes. Something like a toned down Rochefort 8 is my best analogy
