Ungstrup (29019) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 22, 2008
Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel. The flavor is also sweet malty but with notes of both caramel, spices, and wood.

Papsoe (25090) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 18, 2008
(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yespr/Ungstrup. Pours a slightly hazy, dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. Sweetish, fruity, lightly perfumy nose. Medium body with fruity notes and some flowery accents. Dry, lightly bitter finish. After a couple of hopeless fruit beers it’s great to see De Ryck back in form. 120108

Bottle, 6.5%. Spicy aroma, dark malts, slightly sweet and vinous, hint of yeast. Hazy brown colour. Stable light brown head. The flavour is also spicy, has a hint of metal. Drier than the aroma lets on. Roasted and vinous finish. A bit of yeast, but tolerable.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Very deep ruby colour with thick lasting rocky beige head. Perfumed strong Belgian ale aroma. Quite interesting and tasty and makes you want to try it again. Reminds me of a few of the really good dark beers, more of an abt than a dubbel. Good malts hold it up but this spicyness is really very good. Finished it in just a few minutes. Something like a toned down Rochefort 8 is my best analogy
