0.33L bottle. Pours clear golden with a huge, rocky white head that lingers. Nice aromas of cereal malt, floral hops, and hints of bubblegum and anice. . Medium sweetness up front with nice cereal malt flavors, middle goes to stronger sweetness with notes of the bubblegum on the nose, finishes with enough herby hops to cut through the sweetness, but leaves cloying sugars on the back of the throat. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel and active carbonation. Overall, a really pleasant tripel. On the sweeter side, but nice malt character. One of the better that I’ve had, though. Maybe even 2nd to Tripel Karmeliet

Bottle @ home. Giallo ambrato, velato, schiuma beige abbastanza fine, poco persistente. Aroma intenso, fruttato,di albicocca essiccata e d’arancia candita, speziato (cannella e zenzero), lievito belga, zucchero candito e alcool. Gusto dolce amabile all’ingresso, zuccherino, fruttato, alcolico. Leggermente amara, erbaceo e leggermente tostato. Corposa, mediamente carbonata, calda, rotonda. Buon equilibrio. Armonica.

Alengrin (1330) - BELGIUM - JUL 24, 2014
The tripel in this completely superfluous range, launched some time after the blond and the dubbel. Thick, off-white, creamy, stable head, colour a deep peach blonde, misty. Nose gets orange peel, peaches, soap, rose water, vanilla, pineapple, gin, dried ginger, field flowers, some whisky. Taste a soft fruity sweetness with a refreshing citrus accent, honey- and caramel-like malt ’substrate’, finish a bit phenolic, mild flowery hops and warming alcohol. Probably the best of the Arends, but still a forgettable cliché tripel.

Aroma: caramel and bread malts. Appearance: clear dark gold, medium slightly beige frothy head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: sweet malts expand, caramel, molasses, light bitters in the background, medium carbonation. Overall: decent Abbey Tripel, could be more complex in both aroma and palate. Bottle from Beer of Belgium, Ypres.

~Sour apply aroma with citrus and spice, refreshing and spritzy ~pours a cloudy amber orange color with lasting small creamy head ~Sourness tart, fruity flavor with bready malts and balanced spiciness. ~Medium full bodied with high Co2, lingering sourness. ~Not what i was expecting but interesting and enjoyable. Sourness adds complexity.

Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Big plop. No gusher. Loads and loads of white foam. Cloudy golden orange body to beatiful hazy orange. Aromas of grains, yeast, sweat, herbs, fruits, some bread, hay, light sharp fruity edge and some sweet flowers. Flavours of spicy grains, alcohol drenched apricot, some yeast, warmth, light herbal tones, bitters, some dough, sharp tones, hint of sweet malts and some hay. Aftertaste is grainy, light hop tones, some yeast, fruit and warmth. Soft close to silky mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbo and an light oily texture. Decent beer, quite typical but pretty well (Belgian) executed.
