A hazed brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet harsh cherries, with loads of oxidized cardboard. In mouth, a sweet chemical cherry with honey malt, light balsamic notes, acidity, unbalanced. Bieropholie import.

24/11/2011 33cl bottle @ Horeca Expo 2011(2011-675) Thanks to Miek for the beer!

Little cloudy red to rust brown beer, small light brown head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit soapy, sweet fruits, flowers. MF: good carbon, light to medium body. Taste: sweet fruity, strawberries, citric touch, sour cherries, bitter hops too. Aftertaste: tart finish with still some hops coming through.

Note: based on the Arend Winter beer, according the the brewers daughter.

I like good krieks but this is not one of them. The aroma is dark and ok, but from there on it goes downhill. The taste is way too sweet, sickening almost, but not in the usual "we add cherry juice to a geuze" kind of way. It’s like they’ve added sirup or something. I won’t buy this again for sure.

Bottle from the Foreign Bar, Bedford Beer Festival ’10. Reddish brown with a white head. Faint sweet aroma with a touch of fruit and alcohol. Leathery plummy taste, quite restrained. Some dryness later. Not bad, perhaps lacking in impact.

The worst kriek I have come across. It is more brown than reddish, and you don’t taste the cherry flavour that much; a bit in the aftertaste. It gets more unpleasant with every sip you take, and is served in probably the ugliest bottle in the world.

Pinball (8607) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 7, 2010
Unclear red, fluffy light-red head. dry dusty aroma of beer and cherries. flavor is slightly sour cherries, dry, very slighlty bitter as in grapefruit peel. quite refreshing and not at all a sweetbomb as many fruit beers can be. Insted of the sour base present in many beers, the base here is more bitter, like brett, or perhaps like if it was hopped bitter.

7th June 2008. Reddish brown beer. A little tart and a little cherry. Some sweetness comes through to balance the tartness. Very slightly watery but that doesn’t detract.
