"Little Owl", a blond beer for quiet tasting created in collaboration with the Regionaal Landschap Vlaamse Ardennen (Flemish Ardennes Regional Landscape conservation board) and the Little Owl Project Leader to support the Little Owl project. To emphasise our regional identity and the links to this little creature, it includes carefully selected herbs and spices from the Flemish Ardennes. These give the beer a unique, full bodied aroma and taste and one will soon make you want more.

Ingredients: barley malt, maize, hops, yeast, woodruff, angelica, sloe.

Bottle from the brewer shared at Dupont
Dry sage, honey sweetness, light bready notes but overall its yeasty esters that take the centre stage. Well integrated, none of the additions are overpowering, works well.

Pours clear golden with a big white head. It has the aroma of malt, herbs, spices. Unique is the added woodruff (’lievevrouwbedstro’ in Dutch). The taste is medium sweet thanks to the fruitiness, and light bitter. Body is medium and carbonation average. A pretty, charming beer.

Pours an amber body with a medium head. Yeasty aroma with malty tones. Nice taste but nothing out of the ordinary. Just another tripel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. A huge, off-white head forms over a more or less clear, golden body. Curtains. The aroma is quite fruity, with some yeast and a touch of pale malts. It’s medium bodied, smooth and nicely carbonated. Yeast, pale malts, some bitterness, a good dash of fruityness and some pine cones in the flavor. Lasting finish. Too much on the yeasty side this one, not very good actually. 150711

Quite like it. Texture, carbonation, looks all well done. The flavor concentrates on malts and belgian yeast. Simple but good.
