Has some sherry notes, but it still a very good beer. Very good alcohol notes. Creamy flavour, spicy and fruity. Wow, this is extremely good. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dense fruity and solid dark malty towards wineous. Light sourish note. Smooth fruity and wineous flavour with a nice malt base and a lovely liqourice flavour on the back of the tongue. Smooth wineous and dark malty into the far finish. Orange color, cloudy. Traubenzucker in the aroma. Vanilla flavor, harsh flowery hopbitterness. Hint of citrus. Yeast and loads of earthy hops in the firm and long aftertaste.
JK (2945), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Mar 22, 2007 I thought it was a lager. Aroma is sweet with citrus hops. Lightly sweet flavor of simple malt. Medium palate. Cloudy orange in color. Hazy brown, lasting white head and moderate condition. Earthy chocolate and fruit in the mouth with touches of figs and prunes, bitter and figgy in the mouth with a balance of sweet chocolate and yeast, lingering sweet chocolate and yeast in the finish with some bitterness and a trace of nuts.
