Bottle @ 3 Dorstige Herten Utrecht. Dark amber color. 3 years old, according to the barman. Ripe dried red fruit. Maltaroma. Hint of sherry. Has thinned but still has a majestic red berries and dried citrusfruit flavor. No alcohol noticeable. Has aged remarkably well.

Had one froom 2009, so it was three years old and it had aged a little. Complex beer with dark fruits and raisins that leaves a comfortable warm glow in your mouth. Aftertaste is long and has some smooth vanilla. Very good.

(bottle) pours a murky amber-ruby colour with a few floaties and a frothy off-white head. aroma of brown sugar, alcohol and raisins, with a hint of marshmallow, bubble-gum and treacle. flavour is mostly the same, quite sweet, with notes of brown sugar, caramel and pineapple. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.

RBESG ’13. Bottle at de Drie Dorstige Herten shared by bierkoning, thanks! Pours hazy amber with a red glow and a small to medium white head. Aroma is very sweet with raisins, caramel and malts. Taste is also sweet with caramel, raisins, dried red fruits and some alcohol. Medium to full body, soft carbo. Not really my thing but if you like barleywines you’ll like this.

Bottle @ De drie dorstige herten, Utrecht shared by Bierkoning. Hazy opaque reddish color with some yeast particles in it, beige head. Smell malts, raisins, grapes. Taste malts, raisins, grapes, alcohol, sweetness. Pretty nicely balanced even though it’s a three year old bottle. Medium to full body and carbonation. Nice!

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Bert’s Bierhuis. Cloudy dark amber with a beige head. Fruity, yeasty aroma. Sweet taste with lots of depth: spices, fruits and some roasted malts. Alcohol is very well concealed. Nice aftertaste. Overall a good beer.

Bottle. Pours an auburny orange, lightly hale, with a yellowish-brown, stylish head. Aroma is Belgian fruitiness, apple, light marzipan, light caramel and resin. Taste is sweet with loads of caramel, some pine, light fruitiness and yeast in there as well. Light banana and marzipan in the beginning. A bit too sweet for me. Palate is full and somewhat carbonated. Too sweet for me, but at least the alcohol is well hidden.
