3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at ’het Schooltje’ Oostvleteren. I always imagine that the quality of the beer deteriorates a little because it’s kept for a longer time in the ’tap trailer’. Though amazing idea!
Appearance: clear blonde beer, huge stable white head.
Nose: sugar, wheat, lots of grains, hops, alcohol.
Taste: very dense beer, bitter, lots of hops, rather alcoholic finish. Not completely in balance, but nice beer.

Clear mid golden with a decent off white head.
Nose is soured fruits, light hop notes, touch soapy, sugars.
Taste comprises sweet sugars, caramel, woody notes.
Full end of medium bodied with some bite but surprisingly drinkable for 11.5%, fine carbonation, sweet and boozey in the finish.
Drinkable fayre but some way from the best strong Struise offering.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
From tap, a wild version of Lion Claws. Still fermenting in the tank when served (bretty cells working hard for the good!)
Pours light orange with massive white foam.
Aromas are unbelievable and so powerfull: fruity, hoppy, grassy, woody ... and like a Condrieu wine i.e. peach and apricot notes. Dried fruits and almond ... huge massive brew.
I love it !
