Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a dark mahogany with a reddish hue. The aroma is malty leading to a medium bitter flavour with a slightly spicy palate. A drinkable beer that won't win too many awards.

Bottle @ home. Brown colour with a small light brown head that doesn’t last very long. Smells malty, sweet, some spices. There isn’t a lot of smell though. Smells sweet, some liquorice, brown sugar and some spices. Not a bad beer at all, but not my style. Great carbo, medium body.

21 Oct 2012 in Valkenburg, Holland: Cafe De Grendelpoort is having a Bockfest and this was one of the brews on-tap.
Dark reby red in colour with a tan foaming head.
Sweet malty molasses rule the taste and smell as most Bocks do, this was slightly sweeter than most though and a bit thicker and stickier in the body. The beer becomes more interesting as it warms a little, dark fruit notes appear in the aroma and taste, caramel becomes detatched from the other malt flavours and a mild hoppiness pops up at the end of each sip.
I think I tried all the Bocks during the weekend and I enjoyed this one about the best.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 erickok (2280) - Tours, FRANCE - NOV 14, 2012
Can’t believe how ugly this brewer’s labels are... but it’s about the content, I suppose. Black bodied and a foamy beige head. Toffee, booze, dough, cinnamon and candy banana. Taste is pretty nice, almost-burned caramel, well balanced sweet and bitter and a hint of funk even towards the ending. Clean yeast profile, moderate yet lively carbonation. Much better than expected. Flavourful bok that’s quite clean yet with burned malts as flavour identifier. Nice. But that label... (33cl bottle)
