Bottle, shared with my wife. Hazy deep reddish-orange, thick off-white head. Aroma has both citrus hop elements and sugar cookie malts. On the palate, the hops lean toward citrus with some floral elements, and the malts have a slightly toasty quality. It works or me, I liked it a lot.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20 Crit (3089) - New Westminster, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 4, 2013
Sparkling amber, small beige head.Nose of brown sugar, fruity notes.Palate seems to be all hop flavor, no noticeable malt.Bitter end of harsh alcohol and hops seems out of place. Nothing seems to mesh.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 CrookedNine (8) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 3, 2013 does not count
I had this from a 650mL bottle I bought at a local liquor store. The beer poured nice and amber red from the bottle with a thick off white head. The aroma was very malty with a lingering "dog-food" smell. I don’t know if this was an off bottle, but the aroma was quite off-putting and the hops were very faint to non-existant. Not what I’d expect from the 4 hop blend. I got zero tropical fruit, and all funk. Once the beer had warmed up, the taste was slightly better with a thin film coating the mouth with a sour rather than bitter aftertaste. It definitely didn’t feel like the advertised 77 BU, and I felt their choice of shark on the bottle was quite apropos for an IPA I feel has definitely jumped the shark. This could possibly be a better beer if drunk as fresh as possible from the date of brewing, but it definitely doesn’t age well. I think this was possibly an older bottle, as I was surprised to find it in the fridge at the local liquor store, I generally go to Sherbrooke in Edmonton for all my beer needs.

Large bottle. A reddish amber color with a bit of whitish head. Yum! Nice balance of hops and malts here. Both are up front, and both linger on the long finish. Very nicely done.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 mcberko (4146) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 26, 2013
Cask at Central City Winter Cask Fest ’13, pours an opaque, cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of oranges, citrusy hops galore and just enough malt to back. Flavour is full of dry citrus hops, a bit of oranges, and some dry biscuit malts to back. Hugely citrus and pungently orange-like – full-flavoured, with a tropical fruit component as well. Delicious stuff – surprisingly great quality from Dead Frog here.
