Pours a maple syrup colour. Sweet malts, burnt caramel, and some nutiness on the nose...some sweetness and roasty malts on the palate. One and done kind of beer

[4274-20120128] 12floz clear bottle. Light grainy aroma. Clear, dark brown body with a quick creamy off-white head. Bready grain flavour has a lingering sweetness. Medium body. Interesting to try. (6/3/6/3/13) 3.1

341 ml bottle in a mixed case from TBS, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear deep copper with a fair light tan head. Aroma: Fair earthy/nutty malts, a little British caramel/toffee, a touch savoury, meh. Palate: Medium body, fairly aggressive carbonation. Flav.: Quite earthy, a little nutty, a touch tangy, British-style (stern) caramel/toffee, a touch spicy; dry with fair bitterness and a British earthy/nutty finish.

A Nut Brown Dead Frog is a British frog. Most flavourful of the four in the mixed pack, but that ain’t sayin’ much.

Pours a rich clear brown colour, with a small off-white head. Aroma is of grain malts, slight caramel and lots nut scents. Taste is a little dry with a slight sweetness throughout, fairly malty. Medium body, softer carbonation, smooth on the palate. Overall a serviceable brown ale.

Draught at Beachside Restaurant on Marina Dr., West Vancouver
Brown color. Light nutty aroma (and also detergent, but this is the fault of the pipes at Beachside restaurant on Marina Drive). Weak body, light caramel and nutty flavor, dry. Correct bitterness. Simple, but it’s balanced, and pleasant.

Bottle. Dark pour. filmy white head. light lacing. Bland aromas of caramel, toasted malts, some faint chocolate and sweet almond. Taste is similar. Faint toasted notes, some caramel and not much else. Slightly bitter finish. Not bad. not great. I probably wouldn’t buy again but I would try it off tap.
