2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cirrhosis (932) - Edmonton, - DEC 19, 2011
Pale gold thin white cap, looks like a normal lager to me. Wet hay with mild skunk, hints of lime but not as much as i was expecting. When warmer aroma turns sweeter and more limey but still nothing great. Aroma is underwhelmingly dull but probably the best lime beer I’ve ever smelt. Taste has a fizzy pop like quality. Corn with hay no signs of the pepper, hints of lime. Lime is perfect really not over powering and not fake tasting. light and drinkable, nice tiny bubble carbonation. High quality for what it is really, but not a beer I’ll ever really completely enjoy. And why is this in the winter sampler pack and not the summer yard work pack.

Depressing beer...this lime thing has gone too far. Pours a bright yellow, slightly hazed with a finger of off-white head. Sweet and lightly fruity with lime and pepper spice notes. The flavor is lightly spiced and grainy with a lime tang and a off flavor on the finish. A non-existant hop in the nose and the flavor. Overall, very average.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Vertical Bacon Strips (1700) - Asshat, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 20, 2012
Poured out a light gold brew with a small, lumpy white cap with moderate lacing. Well, there is no question that there is lots of aroma - good power in it... yet.. come on. I really don’t like the lime trend. The aroma is mainly fake lime, orange, some black pepper and a musty bottom (gasp!!!). Flavour... more pepper than lime and toss in a bunch of caramel in this pile. The sweetness is actually balanced by the peppery middle and then the whole thing fades out to a light bitter finish with a settling of whatever. Totally drinkable yet I could care less. I can think of one person that I would like to see have this bottle bounced off of their swollen skull. But I want the bottle back for the 5c return. The beers out of the winter box haven’t been bad at all - I am totally surprised.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 CapFlu (3798) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 6, 2012
(Draft) Sampled at the 2011 Great Canadian Beer Festival on September 9, 2011. Smells of lime and surprisingly not overly thin. Its appalling yet really interesting and refreshing. I gotta admit that I’m either somewhat drunk or just really impressionable at this stage of the fest.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 probstblueribbon (1967) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 13, 2012
341 ml bottle in a mixed case from TBS, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear golden with a fair white head.
Aroma: Strong lime notes, also a bit peppery, go figure!; lemon-lime soda, a bit of nice biscuit malt (unexpected), where does the pepper come from since it isn’t on the list of ingredients??
Palate: Medium body, smooth, velvety effervescence.
Flav.: Lemon-lime soda with a restrained peppery note, a hint of that nice biscuit from the nose; dry with minimal bitterness and a pleasant citrusy/biscuit finish.
Flavoured Dead Frogs are still boring, but flavoured.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Spab (1195) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 24, 2011
341 ml (clear) bottle from The Beer Store (part of Winter Mixer). Pours a clear, bright golden yellow with modest-sized white head. Aroma is certainly true to the name with a very peppery lime character - its not cloying but its not exactly delightful. Flavour has lime, muted a bit with the pepper, and some underlying graininess. Light body. Not too good, but compared to the macro ’lime’ lagers (Bud Light Lime, et al) it has the distinction of not tasting like sickly sweet soda pop.
1.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 sulawang (220) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 10, 2011
pours slightly cloudy tinted brown with a very small head, small CO2, ringed retention, and runny lacing. Coffee crisp on the nose (interesting!) and malted caramel. Muddled black pepper mixed with very mild and faint lime up front, roughness on the roof of the mouth, unclean short finish, thin-bodied with no carry. Low complexity, low depth, low length. One-note and quite uninspiring. The pepper isn’t firey or aromatic nor is the lime.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lagerboy (419) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 18, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2012 Clear golden, with a thin fizzy head. Skunky lime aroma, lime taste with intriguing peppercorn? light malt and hops. Quick malty finish. This was a staple in my beer fridge last summer, and I’m not sure why... better than the Industrial Swill lime offerings like Bud & Chill. LF (Lagerboy Friendly)

ottle. Yellow. Lasting thin white foam. Smells like a bag of lime taco chips with the addition of pepper. Compared to other lime beers which are like soda water and lime this one is drinkable with a creamy texture. Kind of intriguing peppery beer with lime. Not a lot of hop or other flavours.
