33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg
Very dark brown with a lacing lasting brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and wine. Taste is medium bitter but with a vinous sweetness that doesnít work for me. aftertaste is more alike to an imperial stout with lasting roasted malts. Not the best imperial stout for me due to the wine influence but Iím curious to find out if the bourbon aged versions are more to my liking because the basis is solid.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap. Poured black color with a moderate creamy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium toasted sweet chocolate malt with a small alcohol aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark toasted sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Quite overcarbonated for IMP stout. Theres some time before huge oversized head goes off and I actually can taste the brew. For me its more like imperial strong porter than IMP stout
Quite interesting vinous note, some dark roasted malts, licorice, bit fruity tart. Some sweetness with light bitterness and light sourness. Feels quite messy and bit thin bodied, but in overall - quite enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
One of the barrel aged Dead Manís Hand stouts, with a sticky, beige, dense head, quite thick and even with some near gushing; colour very dark burgundy, as good as black. Aroma of meat broth, wet leather, cold black coffee, bitter chocolate, brown bread, grapefruit peel, elegant vanilla-like tannins, port wine, ginger, elderberries, cocoa powder, Syrah wine. Taste vividly fruity, red berries, passion fruit, some lemony acidity which even becomes drying, medium carbo, full and granular mouthfeel, caramelly and nutty malts becoming increasingly chocolatey towards the end, spicy yeasty hints, sourish and sweetish, bittering finish of coffee-like roasted grains, peppery hops and warming, liqueurish alcohol as well as a clear presence of woody tannins, with a faint hint of red wine in the background. Nice and complex, though I had expected a more oily texture and thicker maltiness. The wine barrel is clearly there, but in good balance with the brew. Interesting.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours super dark black/brown with a tan head. The smell is dark roasted malt, char. The taste is very roast and dry. The body is light for the style with soft carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma of red wine, tart fruit, red grapes, oak, light roasted malts, light coffee, some chocolate notes. Flavour is moderate sweet, moderate tart, with a light to moderate bitter finish. Starts out like red wine but the aftertaste is where the Imperial Stout shows up. Interesting take on the style.

4oz on tap at Ei8ht Ball. Black color. Bubbly ring of khaki head. Leaves good thicker ridges of lace. Great dark fruit, vinous dark red grape red wine aromas, along with mild dark chocolate, moderate roast. Touch of coffee, dark fruit. Bigger body, kind of slick. Lighter carbonation. Easy to sip on. Good long roasty dark chocolate cocoa nib red wine aftertaste. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, moderate sweet. Very light hint of tart. A great red-wine barrel-aged imperial stout.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft to taster at Ei8ht Ball. Pours dark brown to black in color with very little head and soft carbonation. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, oak, some vinous character, mild bitterness, dark fruits, if this had a bit more carbonation I bet the flavor would pop.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu.
Pours dark brown, almost black color with a small beige head. Roasted malts and surprisingly lot of wine notes here, some chocolate and dark ripe fruits. Roasted malty flavor with dark chocolate, vinous notes, plums, molasses and some faint yeast. Sour palate, dry and bite malty finish. Sweet, alcohol itís well hidden. Good and quite unique.
