Dead Manís Hand is our interpretation of the Russian Imperial Stout style. For the coming years, we plan to brew several versions of this beer.

Bottle by Cuso. Aroma roasted and chocolate, but also firm bubblegum bretty presence. Red fruits. Very dark colour. Taste goes in the established direction. Surprisingly well balanced with even some leftover sweetness. Fruity, roasty, just a pleasant touch of brett. Very good.

On tap 5 oz. pour at Max's in the Fell's Point district, Baltimore, MD. Opaque, near black with a light tan head and good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, slightly acidic red wine, chocolate, licorice, coffee and cherries. Taste of roasted malt, tart dark cherries, red wine, licorice, chocolate, raisins and oak. Medium body and medium carbonation with a smooth, yet tingly mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 33cl. Black with a very small light brown head. Unusual aroma, some sour and wood, hints of wild yeast. Nothing at all what I expected by an Russian Imperial stout. Taste is revealing a great basis beer, but the wine barrel aged is not in my opinion improving the beer. There is constantly a certain sour present. Would like to taste it without any barrel aging. Long lasting finish which finally brings the stout flavours such as liquorice and coffee. The potential of the beer is unfortunate not coming to itís right in this version (my opinion)

Ik drink al niet graag stout, deze riekt redelijk goed, maar de smaak is typisch stout.

33cl bottle at home. Dark brown with a small tan head. Full body with light to moderate carbonation. Sour, bitter and sweet in a good way. Vinegar, cherries, coffee, chocolate and wine. A pretty good combination of a sour brew and an imperial stout.
