33cl bottle Dark black and beige foam. Nose is too simple with roastiness, hops, caramel. Watery mouthfeel, simple taste with just some hints and all dominated by roasted dark malt and an hoppy end. no oak notes.

Countbeer (4078) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - APR 19, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Small beige foamy head on top of a black colored beer. Aroma is a soft mix of liquorice, roast, some chocolate, hops, brett, light vinous and some wet wood tints. Very nice aroma! Flavours of brett and vinous toens with some chocolate, roasted hops and some hop friits, nice bitter tones with a light red fruity tint and some liquid liquorice... Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, vinous tones, hops, hops fruits, liquid liquorice and some crispy malt roqst tone. Low carbo, light creamy mouthfeel, fuller bodied and a light creamy texture. Freakingly easy drinkable stuff, delicious!

Bijna zwarte kleur met een rode gloed en een bruine kleur kraag. Ruikt hout, iets gerookt, iets zoetig van wijn. Smaakt zoetig, wijn en fruitig.

Bottle shared by Abijen @ weekly tasting. Brown color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, lightly alcoholic, a touch of liquorice, slightly bitter, a slight touch of wine. Hmm not what I expected and a but disappointing. Meh.

Draft at Eulogy. Pitch black pour with a tight foamy head. Runny lace. Burnt red fruit. Plums. Chocolate covered dried cherries. Liquorice. Body feels thin for a Russian Imperial. Looks nice. Tastes okay. But heres an example where the wine barrel really detracts from the experience. Reduces the body, confuses the taste, and pretty much destroys the aroma. Wouldnt have again, but look forward to finding the Whiskey version.
