33cl. bottle: Old darkly stained cherry wood liquid with a proud, creamy, tan hat. Aroma of dark caramel, brown sugar, a little cherry and tart plum. A hint of moss gives it some earthiness. Cherry, raisin, a touch of honey and some background roast pretty much sum up the upfront flavor. In the middle a little wood note pops up and then you are hit with marshmallows toasted over a campfire. This roasted sugar brings you through to chocolate. The marshmallow and chocolate last through a long finish where the alcohol let you know it is there. A touch of alcohol and spice sting to the back of the throat after swallowing.

33 cL bottle, thanks to BelJohansen. Pours redish brown with a light tan and collapsing head. Malt and fruit aroma. Flavour is sugarish sweet with fruity notes. Goes into a mild spice flavour. Finish has more smooth almost chocolate like note to it.

0.33 l bottle. Light ruby color with small head. Sweetish, honeyish and caramelly aroma with warming alcohols, tart cherry and hint of dark fruits. Sweet, toffeish, berryish, chocolatey and caramelly flavor with fair amount of warming alcohols and also some alcohol sharpness.

330ml bottle (One Pint Pub, Helsinki, Belgian Beer Week 2008)
Cloudy brown, thin head. Sweet candy aroma. Soft carbonation. Hugely liquoricy taste, with a bit of burnt rubber too. Alcoholic component helps lift some of the flavours up the nose. More characterful than most bruns - the liquorice really dominates.

Bottled. Deep ambery brown colour with big beige fluffy head. Aroma is mildly roasted malts with caramel and slightly sour citrus fruit in it. Some weak metallic notes can also be found as the beer warms up a bit. Flavour is raisins, swett malty along with some mild notes of chocolate and licorice. Also quite fruity notes. Alcohol shows in the form of a nice burning touch. Aftertaste is mainly licorice and bigtime malts.

(33cl bottle, courtesy of DerDoppelbock) Hazy, dark amber coloured, effervescent hue with a big and bubbly beige foamy head. Sweet roast-malty aroma with caramel/toffee and chocolate. Sweet flavour, roast-malty, slightly yeasty taste with caramel, liquorice and a touch of chocolate; medium bodied with a lively carbonation; malt-accented, slightly bitter and rounded spicy finish. Good.

Bottle. [vintage 2005]. Bought @ Kulminator, Antwerp.
Pours a very deep brown with a very pretty creamy beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is filled to the brink with roasted and dried fruity tones. Very nice, creamy and light mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet caramel, plums, light roasted and dry. A slight sourish finish. Great!

Darker hazy brown coloured beer with some little carbonation and a medium white head. Malty, slightly roasted aroma with a little yeasty sweet alcoholic touch. Full body. Finish is dry bitter, little roasted. Not bad.

33cl bottle from Deca. Hazy russet colour with lasting beige head. Bit of dry malt, some choc. This is a very choccy malty bruin. It’s got some alcohol heat and depth. It’s decent, fine, but unchallenging.
