3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer has a dark brown body - hue apperance and a light brown scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had a lot of carbonic acid. The initial flavor tast was sweet.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice dark-brown color with red glow and light colored head. Nice aroma’s like caramel; almonds, toasted bread and a touch of red sour fruits. This beer has a full taste with some sweetness and a touch of light roasted malts. In the end it has a light sour accent that brings some freshness in this beer.

Dark amber color; the head disappears quickly. Aroma of caramel, carbonic gas, bread. Very thin mouthfeel, dry, caramel and quite strong liquorice. Too poor.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Tasted under the name of Bakkers' Zoete Zonde) Deep chestnut colour; very huge brownish head. Marzipan, rosewater in the nose, dark & sweet malts, a bit smoked note. There is some sweet malt but, strangely enough ("Zoete Zonde" means "sweet sin"!), bitter and even sourish carbonation determine the main taste. Palate is very much chocolate. Thick, warming mouthfeel - but lacking singularily in lustre or satisfaction. The name says it all, after all, it delivers nothing less, and certainly nothing more.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: APR 6, 2004 Re-rate: Bottled, 2001 vintage 3l bottle. (7.0%) Rich deep aroma of red berries. Cloudy nut brown. Sweet, malty and velvetty. Rich mature and complex. A totally different beer than the last bottle I tried.
Old rating: Bottled. Dark amber. Neutral nose. Sweet and clean. Yeasty. sharp, and lacking in character. (4/3/3/2/7 1.9)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A rich brown color with ruby hues when held to the light. Beige foamy head. Smell reminds me of a premium Ice Cream with carmel swirls and bits of toffee candy. Alcohol is also noticeable. A bit sweet and the alcohol isn't as well masked as others I've had. Tasty enough but rather simple.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: DEC 11, 2003 Aroma has milk chocolate, grapes and licorice. Flavor also had licorice and chocolate. Porto. Rather thin with just a hint of apple sourness. Tastes like an old Chimay, only thinner and rougher. And more caramel.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is hazy medium brown, dense tiny particles, bottle conditioned.
Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, nutty, toasted bread), lightly
yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of plum, clove, and toffee. Flavor is
moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly
sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture,
lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Complex and enticing aroma, very
good flavor balance (just a tad too yeasty), rich mouthfeel, and
well-hidden alcohol. Superb.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very dark brown-red colour, slightly brownish head. I smelt the spicy aroma from a distance of 1 meter. Little malt too. Spicy, malty flavour too. I can only say to this: "I want more of this!" I didn't expected to get a beer as good as this when I opened the bottle.

Pours a cloudy, dark brown color with a medium sized, off-white head. It has a nice, malty aroma with touches of spice, yeast, and plum. Very smooth and tasty, it has a medium body with medium cabonation and a flavor of malts, caramel, and alcohol. The finish is lingering sweet. Very good, just a little bit below the Antiek Blond ale however.
