3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer has a dark brown body - hue apperance and a light brown scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had a lot of carbonic acid. The initial flavor tast was sweet.

33cL bottle from Poperinge. I thought it was a good brown but the aroma was strange (wet wool?). Not enough to take away from the flavor just strange. I tried a couple of bottes with the same outcome but I will buy some more for comparison and re-rate as required.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle (One Pint Pub, Helsinki, Belgian Beer Week 2008)
Cloudy brown, thin head. Sweet candy aroma. Soft carbonation. Hugely liquoricy taste, with a bit of burnt rubber too. Alcoholic component helps lift some of the flavours up the nose. More characterful than most bruns - the liquorice really dominates.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light amber coloured beer with a medium light brown creamy head. The aroma is slightly malty, some alcohol and some fruit. Rather mild compared to the blond, actually a bit flat. The alcohol is too noticeable. There is some caramel there as well. Slightly bitter finish.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: DEC 11, 2003 Aroma has milk chocolate, grapes and licorice. Flavor also had licorice and chocolate. Porto. Rather thin with just a hint of apple sourness. Tastes like an old Chimay, only thinner and rougher. And more caramel.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice dark-brown color with red glow and light colored head. Nice aroma’s like caramel; almonds, toasted bread and a touch of red sour fruits. This beer has a full taste with some sweetness and a touch of light roasted malts. In the end it has a light sour accent that brings some freshness in this beer.

Bottle. Reddish brown with a small white head. Sweet and malty. Also a bit moldy and earthy I’m afraid.

33cl bottle from Deca. Hazy russet colour with lasting beige head. Bit of dry malt, some choc. This is a very choccy malty bruin. It’s got some alcohol heat and depth. It’s decent, fine, but unchallenging.
