33 cL bottle, as Vleteren Dark Old Strong Ale, 8%. Pours dark and hazy brown with a lacing tan head. Orange fruity and spiced aroma with a note of roasted malt. Flavour is sweet and roasted malt with a distinct note of fruity yeast. Caramelish finish with a mild yeasty touch. Good but certainly nothing special.

Slightly yeasty, moderately sweet toast-malty nose with anise and not too aromatic spicy phenols. Sweet toast-malty taste with strong spicy notes and a faint fruity touch; medium bodied, lively carbonated mf; sweet, overly spicy and alcoholic finish. Lacks balance.

Fresh bottle @ home. Dark brown color, pours a huge head. Caramel and a hint of chocolate in the aroma. Dark chocolate, caramel and roast in the flavor. Malty sweetish, full bodied. Good balance. Well brewed.

Deep brown body with an off-white head. Excellent lace. Nicely balanced aroma of malts, spices - a good complexity. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter flavour which is also very nicely balanced.
