(Bottle, BB 12/04) Pours a murky reddish-brown body with a thick frothy beige head. Aroma of earthiness, toffee, funkiness, dark fruit, and grape juice. Flavor of toasted malt and dark fruit with a bit of a chaulky finish.

25cL bottle. No itís not the famous Westy from up the street but I thought this was a great beer, especially for the price. I would recommend trying this beer. Best place to buy is the drive-through beer barn in Woesten.

A Mes rate: 25cl bottle from Quinns. Lovely spicy with hints of alcohol and hops but with a fantastic note of germoline. Opaque cloudy golden colour with a thin white head and plenty of lace. Malt and alcohol in the flavour with some biscuit and cream. Nice hoppy balance for the finish but sadly the alcohol shows through just a little too much for me. Good beer though.

What a great expectations I had when I found this beer. Another beer from the Vleteren area close to Ieper in Belgium (I guess everyone have heard about the great Westvleteren). Unfortunately itís not like the West neighbours. Yeasty and fruity nose and the flavor is fruity and quite alcoholic.

Bottled (Red cap). Very murky dark brown colour, with big beigeish brown foamy head. Aroma of malts, fruits and some alcohol. Also a bit plum. Flavour is enormously plummy with some other fruits and alcohol. A bit roasted/smoked notes also. Wellbalanced, and quite easy to drink. Some yeast coming in also, as it gets a bit warmer. A very good beer, both for "easydrinking" as well as for an evening you just want to have one or two and chat away.

This beer has a pale body - hue apperance and a coarse white scum collar. I have drunk the beer from the bottle and it had a lot carbonic acid. The initial flavor taste is very sweet with a light bitter afther tast.

At Kulminator, Dark brown colour, average white head. Heavy and sweet aroma, some madeirisation. Full body, Finish is light sweet with some touches of madeira, light bitter near the end. Not bad.

Pour is murky murky ugly brown with a tight bubbled off white head...smell is meat, figs, plums, leather, tobacco...maybe chocolate...taste is earthy and almost chewy...earth fruits, yeast, bitterness, nuts...I canít say it was great, nor can I say it is bad...I just donít know...
