A dark brown beer with a almost medium and beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, raisins, dates and some red berries. Taste is also dark fruity, raisins, not too sweet, some spices and yeast. Medium bodied, quite fresh and nice to drink. Good beer, there are nothing very special, but that’s fine, mainly nice dark fruits.

is this the same as ’vleteren’ cause i cant find that one. maybe the label changed? anyway, if not, i’m sorry for posting this wrong; this is for vleteren, by deca ( woesten- veleteren) wich i drank from a 33 cl bottle, brought to me by a friend.
i’ve heard it was the ’ white label’ of pannepot. the smell certainly is not. wich i like, cause the smell is the onley ’ bad ’ thing of a pannepot in my opinion. the taste is more like it. i understand they make a conection but this is way more easy, commercialized, less tasqte and specialty,... but definatly very good ! i’m gonna buy myself some of these :)

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Currently drinking while typing. After pouring there isn’t a huge excitement from the aroma, mainly sugars, alcohol, spices, yeastiness, toasty malts and some hay. Poured with an ok off-white soft foamy head which soon melted back into a cloudy brown murkiness, not hugely appetising to look at. The flavours aren’t bad though, nothing out of the ordinary but still quite interesting. Mainly it is pretty spicy and malty, also yeasts, sugars, woody toastiness, quite a bit of alcohol and some barnyard flavours too. Malty on the finish with a slight brown sugar edge to it as well, some very subtle mellow hops too. Medium body with a slightly oily texture to it, suitably average carbonation with a fairly long malty finish. Not a bad brew at all, nothing to shout about but certainly worth trying!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. "Vleteren Dark Old Strong Ale") Reddish brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, dark fruit, brown sugar and roasted malt. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, chocolate, dried fruit, raisins, brown sugar and a well rounded, bitter-sweet finish. Almost full body, smooth and rounded mouthfeel, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced and quite nice.
