It has a beautiful red mahogany color and the head is huge and creamy. The aroma has notes of malt, candy sugar, light raisin, caramel- The flavour has sweetness and notes of roasted malt, candy sugar, raisin, caramel and the finish is dry with notes of citrus.

A little hazy red/brown colored beer, with a thick beige head. The Aroma of sweet malts, with coffee candy, some yeast and fruits like cherry. The taste is fruity sweet, with bitter and a little note of sour. Some spices in the back. The aftertaste is bittersweet.

Again, like these Vleteren beers, very light. Aroma is light and sweet and a bit one dimensional. Taste is sweet with more complexity than aroma. Some fruit present, not bad.

Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing. Pours a clear dark reddish-amber with a white ring. Sweet aroma, of malt, honey, wood, spices, and squash. Taste is sweet and sparkly, lots of honey, with malt and wood. Lingering sparkly honey. Nice.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts strong and sweet, modest spicy, a little bit alcoholic. Well balanced, warming finish. Good one!

[ As Vleteren Dark Old Strong Ale ]. Light unclear medium amber color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, dark berry, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. bottle bonus from belgianbeergal. Pours reddish with a tan head. Nose is sweet and slightly fruity. Taste is sweet and rich and overall ok, but a little off.

Bottle, 8% as Vleteren Dark Old Strong Ale. Cloudy brown colour. Good sweet flavour with a nice vinous touch. Some dried fruit, hint of syrup. Good alcohol to balance.

Bottle. Murky brown colour with a medium head. Sweet spicy and sugary aroma. Flavour is spicy and sweet molasses. Creamy and soft body.

Bottle. Low creamy and lasting head. Dark brown almost black body. Roasted barley malt caramel dried fruit aroma with a bit of alcohol. Flavor as indicated by the aroma but I can add that it has a bit of sourness as well. Low carbonation. Short aftertaste.
