Bottle 33cl.
[ As Vleteren Dark Old Strong Ale ]. Light unclear medium amber color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, dark berry, light yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. An unclear brown beer with a huge light brown head. The aroma contains notes of coriander, oranges, yeast, wet cloth, and is a little sour. The flavor though is sweet with notes of yeast and coriander and a dry hoppy end.

33 cL bottle, as Vleteren Dark Old Strong Ale, 8%. Pours dark and hazy brown with a lacing tan head. Orange fruity and spiced aroma with a note of roasted malt. Flavour is sweet and roasted malt with a distinct note of fruity yeast. Caramelish finish with a mild yeasty touch. Good but certainly nothing special.

(Bottle 25 cl) Hazy, greyish brown beer with a creamy head. Very burned malt - almost stout-like - an extremely dry, bitter finish. 111098

Bottled (Red cap). Very murky dark brown colour, with big beigeish brown foamy head. Aroma of malts, fruits and some alcohol. Also a bit plum. Flavour is enormously plummy with some other fruits and alcohol. A bit roasted/smoked notes also. Wellbalanced, and quite easy to drink. Some yeast coming in also, as it gets a bit warmer. A very good beer, both for "easydrinking" as well as for an evening you just want to have one or two and chat away.

Nut brown, hazy. Fruity and sweet, warming, nutty and complex. I really like this pumped up belgian version of alt.

Bottle at home. Hazy orange brown coloured with a medium sized off-white head. Fruity aroma of caramel and spices. Sweet and fruity flavour of caramel, yeast and spices with notes of liquorice. Spicy finish.

Bottle, 8% as Vleteren Dark Old Strong Ale. Cloudy brown colour. Good sweet flavour with a nice vinous touch. Some dried fruit, hint of syrup. Good alcohol to balance.

(Bottle, BB 12/04) Pours a murky reddish-brown body with a thick frothy beige head. Aroma of earthiness, toffee, funkiness, dark fruit, and grape juice. Flavor of toasted malt and dark fruit with a bit of a chaulky finish.
