Jerre (1410), Waregem, Belgium Jul 13, 2007 Bottle, 33cl. Is this the same beer as Kartuis (for a restaurant @ Herne ?) Dark golodn color, big white head. Aroma hoppy, yeasts. Medium almost full body. Taste bitter, hops alcoholic toucht. 1_2many (231), Ohio, USA Aug 27, 2008 Bottle from Belgianbeergal. Hazy golden-amber with a nice frothy white head, good lacing, and some sediment. Aroma is spicy yeast, sugar, and some citrus character. Flavor is mostly sweet with some citrus tang and a strange dusty? flavor. Dust is the only way I can describe it. Its not bad and it takes a back seat but its still there. Otherwise silky, moderate carbonation, and drinkable. Pretty good Tripel.
Okay I just read some of the other ratings to find out about that "dust" flavor. Its cork. I agree. Sick_boy282 (1081), San Diego, California, USA Jan 19, 2007 pours a cloudy golden hue with a light white head. Aromas of yeast sourness. wheat. apples. Flavors of pears. a light funk. and a nice effervesence.
diabel (1210), Aarschot, Belgium Dec 7, 2004 Bottle Clear, amber body. Off-white head, fully diminishing. Caramal aroma. Moderately bitter flavour. Heavily bitter (and lightly salty) finish. Lightly alcoholic. Fully bodied. Fin (2362), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Jul 1, 2007 Bottled at Ter Posterie, Ypres, Belgium 23-06-07 along with a bottle of De Dolle Dulle Teve, this had a lot to live up to as the Dulle Teve was superb. This beer poured much darker than I expected and was really teetering on the edge of being amber in colour rather than the orange golden I anticipated. Subtle in taste and really needing a few sips before its true colours started to show, nice creaminess started to come through along with malts. Not bad at all.
