COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Style Pale Ale is a colonial version of India Pale Ale, originally produced for transport from England to troops in India during the 18th century. These pale ales are a highly hopped, higher alcohol version of an English Pale Ale. Our Holy Cow is an Americanized example of this style. The light golden color of this ale provides the back drop for the beers main event...it hop character. Holy Cow is aggressively brewed with a variety of American hops to give it a pronounced bitterness. Take notice of the crisp citrus aromas and balancing malt profile. Enjoyable with spicy foods. (Brewing Details) Grain Used: Pale, Crystal, Munich. Hops: Galena, Cascade.

Crystal clear, golden ale with a huge, frothy, white head. Very cool cumulus and stratus lacework. Citrusy, piney aroma. More-than-moderately bitter flavor. Tastes like pink grapefruit rind. Medium-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, bitter finish. The bitterness borders on being unpleasant. No character... just carelessly hopped. Still, a must try for hopheads who really like the bite of the Galena.

Hoppy sweet and floral aromas. Lighter gold color, good lacing. Sweet and fruity malts mixed with an almost assertive pine hop. Very smooth body with a nice crisp finish. Could drink a few of these without being overwhelmed. (Tasted at the PA Microbrewer Fest)

Pale goldish wheat in color with a small head. Tastes of hops and barley and hops and water. It was a little too weak and a little too bitter for me, althoug overall, I liked it alright. And I love the logo.
