Bottle:   Black, moderate frothy beige head, nice lacing.   Roasty, ashy, a bit of dark chocolate and a smidgen of chocolate covered cherries on the nose.   Very ashy and roasty on the tongue, chocolate and cherry are a bit more subdued than the nose suggested.   Slight tartness on the tongue.   Has a faint aspect of dark pitted fruit.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Slightly tart finish, dark pitted fruit, roastiness.   Label says stout, but listing is Baltic Porter, which I agree with.   Decent, but average.   Thanks Bill!

I lived in Japan for a couple years. In the first month I was there I heard a truck go by playing what could only be ice cream jingle music. I hastily put on some shoes, bolted out the door and sprinted down the block while people looked at me like I was crazy. I finally caught up to the truck, all out of breath and sweaty and there were no pictures of ice cream anywhere on it and I could barely speak Japanese and couldnít order. Finally someone who was standing by laughing at me explained that the truck sold kerosene. What kind of sick monsters have a truck that goes around playing music and selling kerosene? DO they want their children to explode. It was the saddest walk home ever.

Pours a dark brown color with off-white head. Cherry, chocolate, roasted malt, and some nuts on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a sweet and tart cherry flavor.

22oz bottle poured into a Snifter at 41į. Color is black with good carbonation and a thick rocky brown head. Aroma is a deep roasted malt scent with just a faint note of fruit on the back end. It has a medium body with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor of deep roasted coffee that gives a hint of dark chocolate then some dried fruit. As the after taste rolls in the roasted flavors give a mellow bitterness and just a touch of cheery. As it warms a bit the cheery seems to show a little more bring out some sweetness. Overall its a very tasty brew and is well balanced, I just thought the cherry would standout a little more.

Pours pitch black with a medium sized tan head. Smells strongly of milk chocolate. Taste is hints of cherry with a bold milk chocolate backbone. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Deep Ellum Cherry Chocolate Double Brown Stout finishes with a subtle cherry note and extreme chocolate.

Beerenberger (1414) - Fischer, Texas, USA - MAR 21, 2014
The nose is filled with chocolate with hints of coffee and roasted malts. A deep, dark, brown pour with a tan ring and minimal lacing. The palate is slightly sweet with flavors of chocolate, cherries, hints of medicine and coffee bitterness. Medium-full body with moderate carbonation. Overall, I really wanted like this beer, but found it to be wanting in body and the mediciine notes got in the way of my full enjoyment. A double perhaps, but definately not a home run.

Growler pour - dark brown with a small head. Has a mocha aroma and an and initial smoky taste. The body is malty sweet and the finish is dark chocolate.

BOSSbrewer (1581) - Arkansas, USA - MAR 8, 2014
Picked up in dallas. Pours dark brown with thin to no tan head. Aroma is chocolate. Not really any cherries. Flavor is rich sweet dark chocolate. Slight cherries but not much. Not quite roasty enough for a Baltic porter. Full bodied and sweet. Decent beer.

Tap at Common Table, Dallas - I thought this one was decent - certainly a smooth body and creamy texture - the tart cherries balance the sweetness of the malt and add some depth - the cocoa is not very present, but I donít think it needs to be - the balance of malt sweetness and lightly earthy and tart cherry skins/tannic character is enough to carry this - sure, itís not terribly complex outside of this, but itís still quite enjoyable.

On tap at World of Beer. I hardly get any cherry in the nose or the flavor. Hint of roasted chocolate and malt. Not really much there, but it's a great stout.
