COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s no secret, at DEBC, we’re fond of hops. Citrusy, piney, floral, and fruity hops are at least a third of this whole adventure. Hops may be the current ruler of the craft beer scene, and we, for one, welcome our resinous, spicy, bitter overlords. We’ve taken the IPA category to its Event Horizon, and pulled back just enough to see the edge. Get the big picture, it’s hoppy! Hops - Summit, Columbus, Apollo, Liberty, and more! Malts - Pale ale, Rye, Vienna, Honey Yeast - English Ale Other - Raw cane sugar

On tap. Pours with a clear golden hued body with a small white head. Aromas are dank, citrusy, spicy, herbal. A little bit of sweet marmalade, a touch sticky and boozy. Flavors are sweet, a bit boozy, floral, pine and sticky resins. A touch fusel. Earthy hop character, a touch spicy, pine. Lively carbonation but a sticky mouthfeel.

Pours a dark brownish orangeish color with a dark tan head. When held to light, it’s a beautiful burnt orange color. The lacing is wonderful. Aroma is pineapple, candy orange, caramel malts. Not a whole lot of hop characteristics. This follows to the taste. Much like Karbach’s Rodeo Clown, this is a malt bomb of an IPA. It’s not my thing when it comes to IPA’s, much less double IPA’s. I’ll drink it, but won’t search it out again.

Hazy copper with a big creamy cream colored head. Aroma of pine, rye, caramel, and citrus. Taste is malty sweet with decent bitterness and some spice from the rye. Smooth and medium bodied.

12 oz. can thanks going to Righcross55 on this one! Date on bottom of can is 04/17/2014. Nice cloudy amber and orange color with suds of white head in the snifter. Aroma is spicy rye, pine resins and a touch of what may have been citrus.

Flavor caramel bready malt balances the brew just right. The rye is right upfront in the sip with pine and grapefruit in the finish. Bitterness lingers for a few seconds after the sip leading into a oily / juicy texture. The flavor I get is nice right now I can only imagine how big this is fresh. The ABV is hidden well and really overall was easy to sip on a hot summer afternoon. Nice drink.

Can. Pours orange gold. Nose/taste of rye, grapefruit peel, caramel malt, honey, cane sugar, dank orange peel and dank sugary citrus. Medium body.

This was pretty well done. Nice bittering aroma of pine and citrus. Good copper color with a thin foamy head. Medium-weight palate that was smooth and full. Carbonation was complimenting. Bitterness up front but not too harsh. Grapefruit and floral with a caramel and honey malt background. Pretty well balanced and the alcohol was hidden.

Jesterdeal (1814) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - JUN 30, 2014
Can to the face. Aroma is nice rich citrus: ruby red, apricot, and nectarine. Pours dirty orange with a big sticky head. Taste is peaches, apricot, orange zest, grapefruit, and a tremendous caramel malt throughout. Sticky and loaded with hops in the mouth. Despite all these tastes, it felt a little muddled and dull. Needed some zazz. Otherwise, another stellar IPA from Deep Ellum.

Smell is of pure hops, extremely strong. Sweet sugary middle. Not a dry ipa. Finishes with the hop aftertaste

Sweet smells of malt and citrus hops. Tasty hop profile with great tropical flavors. The abv is well hidden and has a straight forward approach that is much appreciated.

Mild haze golden copper pour. Thick off white head with lots of lacing. Big rye aroma with pine and grapefruit aroma. Flavor is heavier in the hops. Lots of grapefruit and rye flavor. Clean bitter finish. ---Rated via iPhone
